Win/Loss prediction for your team
For Syracuse I figure 5-7 sounds pretty good. I'm Thinking they will win 1-3 games against the Big Ten, Beat Akron and Maine, and Win 2 Big East Games. I could also see them going 4-8 or 6-6 though.Either way, I think it is pretty reasonable to think that SU fans will finally see marked Improvement this year, and with 8 Home games, The Carrier Dome might just give The Orange an advantage again.My dog's butt smells like cookiesTags: None -
Re: Win/Loss prediction for your team
My team is OSU, this is what I am hoping and shooting for..
Loose to USC in a hard and close game at home.
Beat Penn State in a very, very, very close game to win the Big 10 title.
Loose to Iowa in a shocking upset.
So I am saying OSU only having two losses. By the fact the USC beats OSU, they make it to the NC against Florida or Texas. OSU goes to the Rose Bowl and finally wins a bowl game again agaisnt Cal.
I know, I like my Buckeyes too much.Comment

Re: Win/Loss prediction for your team
For Alabama I see 12-0 regular season. The schedule isnt that hard, we should be undefeated going into Ole Miss but theyre going to flop, so thats a W. Then LSU comes to town, I think we got a W there. I think we will go to the SEC Championship game, now Saban has been scheming for spread offenses, so maybe we will beat UF in the SECCG but im not sure. Im not sure on that right now. Im just gona go & say we win & we play Texas & # 13 is ours! But we still might lose the SECCG & probly Florida goes to NC & we go & win the Sugar Bowl. Our o-line is getting overlooked, theyre alot better than everyone thinks. Mcelroy is going to be a great QB, he is a great passer & is prone to not making mistakes. We have 3 or 4 good backs that will see alot of carries. Julio hasnt been close to being shut down & I dont see it happening this year either. The D will be one of the best in the country, and we will have a legitimate pass rush this year. And Maze is gona be takin a bunch of heat off Julio.RMG:R3AL M3N OF G3NIUS League Member

Re: Win/Loss prediction for your team
I'm hoping for 8-4. That would mean we would win our first seven games against Louisiana Tech, MSU, WV at home, Ball State, at Tennessee, at Arkansas, Kentucky, and then beat Furman later on.
That would mean we lost to Ole Miss, Georgia, LSU, and bama.
If we lost one of the games I say we're going to probably win, it's not of the question for us to win one of those games I counted as losses.
Realistically we could have anywhere from 6 wins to possibly 9 depending on how the season plays out.WUSTLComment

I think WVU goes 9-3 (5-2), although anywhere from 8-4 to 11-1 is certainly possible, IMO.Comment

Re: Win/Loss prediction for your team
It's really difficult to go undefeated and it also takes luck. The odds are stacked against OU as far as an undefeated season goes. I'll actually explain to you why OU won't go undefeated.
Of OU's seven toughest games, only one is in Norman.
@Miami
@Nebraska
@Kansas
@Texas Tech
Texas (Dallas)
BYU (Arlington)
Nebraska and Kansas will be top 25 teams and Miami could very well be a top 25 team. Texas is a top 5 team and a lot of people project BYU to be ranked around 15 or so. Texas Tech won't be as good but a 8-4 Texas Tech team beat OU in 2007.
I think OU has a good shot at losing to Miami or on the road at Kansas. OU plays KU the week after the Texas game and could be licking their wounds a little bit. Last year when OU played Kansas the week after OU/Texas, Kansas lit up OU in Norman. KU has one of the best WR units in the nation, a gritty QB in Reesing, and a good coach in Mangino. I would not be surprised at all if Kansas beat OU.
OU finishes up the year with a projected top 10 Oklahoma State team in Norman. OU has handled OSU in recent years but OSU is one of two teams to beat OU in Norman the past decade.
I always project OU to lose two games and I'm sticking to that prediction this year as well. The schedule is too difficult to go through the season unscathed. Texas' schedule sets up a lot nicer as they play no one out of conference and only have one difficult game away from Austin.
I think you greatly underestimate how tough OU's schedule is. Not to mention we need to shake the BCS bowl issues.Last edited by BigDofBA; 08-01-2009, 03:09 PM.***My Teams***

Re: Win/Loss prediction for your team
Auburn
Louisiana Tech-Win
Mistake-Win
WVU-Loss
Ball St-Win
@Tennessee-Win (assuming Tennessee fields a team after the Florida game)
@Arkansas-Win
Kentucky-Win
@LSU-Loss
Mississippi-Loss
Furman-Win
@Georgia-Loss
Alabama-Loss
7-5
8 of those are no brainers at this point (LTech, Mistake, Ball St, Kentucky, LSU, Furman, UGA, Alabama).
I think WVU is a very winnable game, but I think they're still a bit better since their QB should have experience
Tennessee should be completely demoralized after UF beats them by 70. Both of our offenses sucked last year, but our coaching hires were better on that side so I think we have a greater likelihood of progress on that side.
Arkansas sets up pretty good for us. They play us in the middle of a stretch of UGA, @Alabama, vTAMU, Auburn, @Florida, @Old Mississippi. I could see them coming in with their heads down, but I could also see that transfer QB throwing 350 yards and beating us by 20.
Old Mississippi is a question mark. There's no reason for them to not run away with the West, but on the otherhand, they are coached by Houston Nutt.
If Todd starts, my prediction drops to 5-7.Last edited by Cebby; 08-01-2009, 05:17 PM.Comment
