2001.

They lost the Nola Bowl.

Yet another epic research fail from Dennis Dodd. As if I expected anything else. This is the guy who once got ZERO picks right in an NFL mock draft published the week before the draft.

None of the transitions are likely to even reach 4 wins - and UMass is a two-touchdown underdog in each of their first nine games. Yet they count as FBS for the eligibility of their opponents.

I do think we need to reduce the number of bowl games. I really don't mind 6-6 teams making bowls but anything less than 6-6 is just ridiculous to reward with a bowl game. Bowl games are becoming less and less prestigious.

It's all about money now. Tradition and other things are thrown out the window now it seems.

Do you really care where I sent this from?

I would be okay with even a 64 team tourney if they cut regular season games to 11 and cut the bowls.

Who is making money off these bowls though? No one goes to them and even the die hard fans don't watch a lot of them. All these games we mediocre teams should be gotten rid of. Cut the number in half and make it mean something to make a bowl game.
