    Doesn't anyone play on MOP?

U guys have all written some really great stuff on here. The one thing I've noticed though is it seems hardly any of u play on MOP.

For such avid fans, I would expect you all to crave that challenge. Their are fewer things more satisfying in this game than scoring an upset or making a deep tourney run with a mid-major on MOP.

Re: Doesn't anyone play on MOP?

I've always played on MOP and would never go back to any other level. Playing on MOP is so much harder than the level right under it (don't remember the name, All-American maybe?). Yes, the CPU may be a little cheap, especially in some of the passes it makes or shots it takes, but when you do win, it is something to relish. Heck, I have a dynasty going with St. John's and beating a team outside of the Big East is an accomplishment for me sometimes.

I play on MOP with sliders in favor of the CPU. I do this to compensate for the 'human advantage' that I have over the CPU.

It's very rewarding to win big games on this difficulty.

Same here. Even on MOP, if the sliders are even for both sides, I still can win pretty easily. Still have to tip it in favor of the CPU.

I don't think it really matters what level you have it as, as long as your sliders match your skill. I have a 90 winning pct online. Like 74-6 with 3 DC's or something and I play on AC with spencers sliders.

In other words, turn the difficulty level up. Way up

He is 74-6 online, not against CPU.

I play on MOP, pretty similar sliders to Fistorage.

I agree. I want the difficulty to allow me to win most games I should win and lose most games I should lose. I play with my own sliders on All Conference. I've tried All American in the past and didn't like it so I've played over 95% of my legacies on AC (and I've been playing this game off and on since its release date). I'm currently in year 4 of my newest legacy. My team is a 90 OVR. I've played 6 games and I've already been beaten by #21 (and defending champs) West Virginia who was an 88 and by Virginia Tech who was an 83 OVR (those bastards still had me by over 20 with 4 minutes left before I finally got frustrated and simmed to the end).

I don't exploit the game and I find that if I don't do that, I can get some good competitive games on All Conference. By exploit I mean that I don't do stuff that I know the CPU can't stop the vast majority of the time.
                1. I press after every basket, but I don't use a trapping press as traps are pretty nasty. My press doesn't turn the ball over often, but it does slow down their offense.
                2. I don't jump passing lanes as it's too easy to steal passes that way.
                3. I break any press pretty easily, but I always reset once I get it across half court. There's a lot of presses where you can get a 2 on 1 almost every time for an easy layup if you continue without letting their defense reset.
                4. I call very few pick and rolls as those are pretty automatic.

I think those are my only house rules. As long as I respect those (which I do) I get a good variety of games. I blow out some teams. I barely beat some teams. I barely lose some games. I get blown out some times (freakin' 83 OVR VA Tech shot over 60% for most of the last game).

Doesn't it matter more what team you play with than what difficulty you have it at? If I am Duke or UConn I should win 25 games out of 30. If I am Northwestern I will be lucky to go 15 and 15.

Re: Doesn't anyone play on MOP?

I recently started playing on MOP after being on All-American for a long time. This was just to make it a bit more challenging without having to rework all my sliders and such.

The truth is that it doesn't matter too much what difficulty it is on. It's more about the sliders IMO. With sliders, you can make MOP cake and Starter impossible to win. It's all about sliders.

The thing is, if you turn it up to MOP, you don't have to do much with the sliders. The CPU will break trapping presses most of the time (especially if you don't have the right personnell).

Pick and rolls arent automatic on MOP. Not at all. The defenders recover better when you break the press on MOP.

The biggest difference I'd say is you have to work harder on offense to get an open shot, and ALWAYS have perfect timing on the release point. Otherwise you miss.

On D, if the CPU has an open shot, they hit it 95% of the time. That's rough. Playing on AC or even AA this is not the case, regardless of how you mangle the sliders.

I mean, if you just crank it up to MOP, you don't have to justify a bunch of other stuff to yourself. Plus, it makes you way better at the game.

                      IMO, of course

Those (especially the 2nd one) are 2 very good reasons for me to not play MOP.

I like to play on MOP because everytime I win I feel like I achieved something. Wins dont come very often in my Princeton Legacy.

That's what I like. I know that MOP may not be the best level to play on to get authentic basketball gameplay, but it really does give you a sense of accomplishment when you win, especially in the tournament.

I've always played on MOP too because of the challenge. MOP forces me to really concentrate and focus instead of just playing run & gun. There are times when the CPU cheats but I like the feeling of going into a game and knowing that if I don't bring my "A" game I will lose.
