    Just wondering if anyone really considers individual player ratings when deciding what your rotation is or do you go with the highest overall?

    I'm wondering how in depth ratings can be and work to your advantage, for example, I have a SF who is a 70 and like the 6th best G/F on my team - but his stats are inflated on the offensive end and really bad defensively, so I have been using more as a volume scorer and there are moments he's really good. But obviously he isn't going to play when I need defense.

    Just wondering if anyone has looked into this to play more with a lineup when you need offense, defense, rebounds, trapping, etc.

    I am also trying to figure out some kind of formula in looking for types of players. i.e. I need 3 point shooters. Obviously I want to look at the 3 point attribute but if their offensive awareness is really low I feel like they aren't going to be as productive.

    Anyone also know how defensive awareness and defense play together? I look at "defense" as just on ball defensive ability, and defensive awareness as playing help defense or something to that nature.

    Just wondering if anyone really looks at attributes that depth or maybe I am overlooking how important they really mean.

    Individual ratings definitely make a huge difference in this game, although if you're playing the games yourself offensive awareness isn't so important. It's well worth the effort to look at mixing up your lineup based on game situation, so having a defense first lineup, outside shooting etc... The other thing to remember is that game experience and team unity can have a massive effect on how well the team plays, so it may well be worth it to leave that stud freshman on the bench in favour of a less skilled but experienced upper classman

      Height matters a lot in this game, especially with the low-post positions. It probably matters too much, actually, but it is what it is.

        I agree with the Height comment. Although I LOVE a speedy guard when you are playing with a mid-major team. Run circles around ofther players

          And a small forward with a high medium shot rating can be deadly too.

          You could essentially build any type of team you want. But yes, I'd put in an SG with a high 3 pt shot over one with a better overall rating.

            I'm usually not one to run gimmick offenses, but my 1st season with my new team the Oregon Ducks, my predecessor didn't do a very good job of preparing my roster leaving me with 1 center and 2 Power forwards..

            The plus side is I have a total of 9 players on the roster with 80+ 3pt ratings from the PG to SF position (3 PG's, 4 SG's, 2 SF's.) All of these guys have big OVRs' so im obligated to play them..

            I'm come up with a solution , and it really shows why I love this game.

            Run into the play designer, and create an offense that involves the Center setting multiple picks and the 4 "Shooters" constantly moving and creating ball movement with crisp passes. I call it the W3O offense.

            (W--the shape the 5 players make in the custom made set)

            (O-- Oregon)

            PF SF
            C
            SG PG

            The only reason I use the actual position names is to keep track of what player is where.. There are only 2 positions in my offense.
            "Shooters" and a "Big"
            So far I am 1-0 with a win in a shootout with Brown University.

            I scored 108 points, very very nice.

            My 2 Seven Footers are there to clog the lane in the 2-3 and grab rebounds--both defensive and the offensive ones coming from volume 3-point shots.

            All of the plays I created have 20 steps, the max you can have, but that is by no means as many as I want to take. I will be taking the first available shot, whomever it may be that is open.

            I was 14-39 from deep in the first experimental game.

            Also, I really cannot understand jumpshooting. I have NO idea when to release, I just flick the stick and hope for the best. I read that SF's with Mid-range are deadly, but I had one from Ball State before I reached Oregon and he couldn't throw a rock in the ocean
