WOW! Now that is a nice drop.............now its time they release larger HDD's + at a lower price point.

One more comment.........MS are fools if they get rid of the Pro and not the Arcade. Personally, they should place the Pro at $199 and totally ditch the Arcades. This way now everyone moving forward has hard drives for their systems. It just would make sense to me.

Also it might be temporary because wasn't it mentioned the Elite will be phased out?

If this does happen it will take the glory away from the Slim and PS3 price cut.

the elite was to replace the Pro, as it is here. This gives the impression of a price drop, rather than quietly phasing out the elite and then throwing a 120 GB HDD on the Pro. MS creates more buzz this way. Plus, they'll likely drop the price on 60 GB Pro models to clear them out.

The elite has been pointless for awhile anyways, as once every 360 got HDMI, the only thing propping it up was the cost of the HDD and the black color. It likely made MS a nice bit of money on each one sold at $400, but they wanted to make the larger HDD more accessible now that it's more than a novelty.

damn i just got a damn xbox pro like 4 days ago for 299.99 but at least i can return it and get the elite FROM best buy. just sucks doing all this hastle or maybe they can drop the price of the pro so i can get a price adjustment...

well it isn't a price drop for the Pro. They're phasing it out. I'd assume Best Buy would give you the difference when they drop the price of the Pro to clear them out of stores.
