Need PlayStation portal assistance

So for anyone who owns the PlayStation portal I just got one

I am having issues with the turn on and shut down part

To my understanding you put the PlayStation system in rest mode and then you use the portal

What is happening is I am off somewhere else and I hit the power button on the portal and it boots up and then connects to system, problem is when it does the PlayStation system at home boots up and turns the TV on and everything I am doing on the portal is being seen on the Tv , what am I doing wrong ? The whole point of the portal was so people could watch TV on the TV and I could still use the PlayStation

There's a setting on your PS5 that you can change that keeps your TV from turning on when you turn on your PS5. Can't remember at the moment where exactly it is but I know it's there because I had to change the setting to keep this from happening.

I believe this is the default setting on the PS5, at least with my TV (LG) as it did this when I first got my PS5.

If you can't find the setting to change just google it or let me know and I'll go check to see which setting it is. It really has nothing to do with your Portal to my knowledge.

About 3 weeks ago I went to the playstation website and they were in stock. Ordered it

They might still be in stock I would check the playstation website

Must of been great timing. I can never seem catch one in stock. I guess I'll check daily.

Honestly I just got the thing and I might already need to sell item. I am 46 and have old man eyes and I bought it for MLB the show and it's impossible with my eyes to hit the ball it's so small lol
