    E3 2017 - Microsoft Discussion Thread

Welcome to the Microsoft E3 2017 Discussion Thread. Here, all of us can discuss what's listed below as well as the actual conference itself.

NOTE: FULL CREDIT goes to Nirolak from neogaf.

    Full E3 2017 Press Conference Schedule -

    MICROSOFT
    Sunday June 11th, 2017
    5:00pm EST / 2:00pm PST

    Officially announced games -
    • This isn't a game, but the Xbox Scorpio will be formally unveiled at E3.
    • State of Decay 2

    Presumed games -
    • Sea of Thieves
    • Crackdown 3

    Maybe, maybe not games -
    • Below: Long in development, still not out, but in theory out soon-ish.
    • Cuphead: See Below.
    • Pit People: Is in early access.

    Teased/rumored games -
    • Forza 7 has been all but announced
    • Ori and the Will of the Wisps was trademarked
    • The Ashen developers mentioned that their game would be shown again soon.
    • There's something "small" related to Halo that is not Halo 6 and not Halo 3 Anniversary

    Additional notes -
    • Microsoft has a marketing partnership with Middle-Earth: Shadow of War. It is always plausible that marketing partnership games show up on stage.
    • Studio Gobo signed their partnership with Microsoft a short while ago. It's probably too early for their game unless they had been working on it for a long time, and only just recently announced the partnership.
    • It seems too early for Gears of War 5, and Halo 6 is already confirmed as not showing.

    Here's my top hopefuls.

    - Will Scorpio be $500 or less

    - What VR games Microsoft has in development.

    - Which of the VR headsets will be partnered with Microsoft

    - A viable MLB game to compete with The Show.

    - Any new surprises that seems to come out from nowhere.

Here's a list of things that would make my life complete but won't happen:

      Ubisoft Access
      - cross-buy with Uplay

      EA Access
      - cross-buy with Origin

      VR on Scorpio
      - Star Trek Bridge Crew coming
      - VR/AR helmets work with all current VR games
      - SteamVR support (HMD and on console)
      - limited support for VR on Xbox One

      And finally...
      - cross-buy with Steam (lol)

Wow, and just like that, no xbox VR slated for E3! Very disappointed. Apparently, they're looking to next year. MS needs to offer much more than what's outlined on the first post to get my attention.

Don’t expect Xbox VR to be at E3 this year, or in stores this holiday

I'm ok with that. Some cool new wireless products coming to the Vive, the medium is really still in its infancy.

Microsoft has fallen out of favor with me after the XB1 and its lineup of software. I don't know what they could show to being me back. As it stands now PS4 and Switch is all I need for the foreseeable future.

Mostly the same for me but Forza 7 on Scorpio will almost certainly bring me back, LOL

As much as I love me some Forza Horizon and Gears of War, it's not enough for me to invest in Microsoft going forward, unless their first party software shifts drastically in a positive direction. With less and less time to game nowadays, they unfortunately became the odd man out.

This is the year MS could win me back. So far not promising.
I skipped the Pro as I was waiting on the new system to be revealed etc..
I really am ripe for the picking with MS but they need to bring the games and wow me. If not I'm fine with the vanilla PS4, Switch and my new PC.

I agree. Most of the games I want are multi-platform and Sony has some of the niche titles I'd want like Yakuza and Persona. None of their current first party/exclusive titles interest me enough to pick a Xbox One.

                      Re: E3 2017 - Microsoft Discussion Thread

                      I don't care enough about Sony's exclusives (even when I had a PS3 I'd skip some)...

I think/hope that MS will improve the first party games, will just take some time (can't right that ship immediately).

I like the MS direction with BC and keeping the ability to play your old games pretty much forever...I'm not getting the Game Pass, but having that, EA Access, and the like on Xbox is huge. Once my son starts gaming more I'll have a giant library of games available at a low cost.

No doubt PS4 is great....Overall I'm happy where I'm at and what MS has been doing. Phil Spencer seems to have a great long term plan for MS Gaming in general, so giving them time to keep building is great.

I get that those with both systems would prefer PS4 though...I just only have room for one...well two if you count Switch, but that's unique.

I care enough about Sony's exclusives to hope that their next console is backward compatible. If they don't believe in that, then I'll probably never buy another Playstation again.

I'm done w/ software resets where it's possible to avoid them. I'm not a Nintendo fan so I'm not conditioned to buy the same titles over and over.

I think after everything I've been reading and hearing about the scorpio I might be making the switch back to xbox. I'll get most of the 3rd party games on the scorpio and mainly have the ps4 pro for MLB and their exclusives. I hope we're in for a sweet surprise in 3 more days..

Forza 6 was the reason i bought the Xbox one, I'm not falling for that again. Very dissapointed in both the game and the console. I'll be paying attention the the Scorpio announcement. It will ave to blow my mind to get me to buy one though, we shall see if it can.

People seem to forget exclusives don't just come from Sony or Microsoft. There are games that come out that are platform exclusive that are third party developed. And with Sony owning such a huge user base expect to see more third party exclusives, especially from studios that don't have the time or money to develop multi-platform.
