Players actually block...i had better blocking in the game then when I do in ncaa 12. Get this, the crowd is ACTUALLY VERY loud. The recruiting is MUCH better, players awarness isnt so low coming in, in fact, its in the high 70-75, im in shock.

Im going to start a game with army and navy and see if the option works

Edit #2 - yep, im able to block perfectly, it actually feels like an ncaa game...

Ok, playing lsu vs arkansas, put a full back at center, lets see if he gets bull dosed, and DEFENDERS run right through him, unlike ncaa 12 where the fb would be able to handle 300 lbs nose tackles...

Ummm the game played so SLOW though. But u never doubted who was the faster player. Speed was all u needed back then.

I loved NCAA 2009, didn't get 2010, enjoyed 2011 almost as much, 2012 about the same. Yes gameplay is different, but man back then speed was all you needed. I remember as western kentucky (first year in the game!) I recruiting 2 90+ speed WR's, turned one into my HB; and went 9-3, 11-1, and 12-0 in my second, third, and fourth years; just because it was a guaranteed TD 90% of the time.

How did NCAA 09 compare to NCAA 10? I can't really remember either one of them. I was actuallly considering buying one of those two for the PS3, but wasn't sure which one to get. Also, how was the QB scrambling and cpu option offense on both games?

Wasn't 2009 the WIIIIDE Open gameplay where speed was all that mattered? Running was the truck and duck and off to the endzone Meep Meep like the road runner because speed was the ONLY attribute that mattered.

I also remember it being a pick 6 festival.

There were quite a few things it did better than today, the dynasty bugs and glitches weren't there.

Second this motion. NCAA 09 was the worst in the long history of NCAA game IMO. The stuff already mentioned, the rocket catch x10. It was the first and only time I played less than a month. 12 has its flaws but is miles ahead of 09 IMO.

09 had the bad pursit angle and the twitch control. Not so good compare to now.

When you been playing a game for the last 3 months and put in an old game, it's always a fresh feel, but you play that long enough and you remember why you wanted to throw the controller through the TV 3 years ago.

I do the same thing. People use to say madden 08 was horrible, and then last year all of a sudden, it's so great they have consecutive tackles, nevermind all the other bugs.

I don't remember rocket catching but I remember faster recievers just BLOWING past slower corners.

No, 08 is easily the worst game of all of them. Every game had a minimum of 5 turnovers. Not only were fumbles extremely common, but DB's were unrealistically exceptional at picking the ball off. My online games would average 2 picks by me (thats with extremely conservative passing) and 4 for my opponent.

NCAA 08 had defense, but it was turn over festival as well.

NCAA 09 was when they put it in the wide open game play engine where speed was king and defense didn't exist.

NCAA 10 was decent......dynasty progression was screwed up though

NCAA 11 was damn good except for dynasty was screwed up

NCAA 12 they finally had scrambling QBs for the 1st time since NCAA 06. However once again dynasty progression was screwed up, roster tendencies were screwed up, game freezes, lack of blocking on returns for the CPU, CPU RBs don't use their special moves.

Saving grace for NCAA 12 is coach mode and the ability to edit rosters in dynasty.

I hated NCAA 10 with a passion. IDK why I hated it so much. The broken fatigue on defense and a few other things put a sour taste in my mouth I couldn't recover from it.

I agree with the OP NCAA 09 was a good game. A little too offensive, but good.
