Teams to use in Career Mode

Now despite the many many many gripes we all have with career mode, I am interested to see if anyone is excited to try out some new teams for their own career mode?

It's hard to obviously plan what to do with a team with the new feature of board expectations, however i just want to see who is excited to go who?

Being a Rangers fan I am delighted they'll be back in so will no doubt do a career mode with them, although I probably will move them and celtic to England.

I also like the thought of going RB Leipzig, they may be the most hated team in Germany, but there's something about them I quote like!

I like to play in a new league whenever EA adds one, so I'll be starting my career in Japan.

I'm a big build from the bottom guy in all sports games, so I like to start in League 2. Last 2 games (14 and 16) I've done Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth. I loved playing in a real stadium w/ Fratton Park...and might just stick with Portsmouth again since that'll be the only real stadium at that level. We'll see, though.

Love starting in low-ranked Scandanavian teams, Football League Two, and the Irish league.

I was thinking about:

Serie A:
- Bring AC Milan or Inter Milan back to glory

Bundesliga:
- RB Leipzig , the new big rival of Bayern?
- Leverkusen / Schalke / Gladbach all with lots of potential, some nice young players and lots of history

But since EA again completely ignored everything except the Premier League I'll probably pick an EPL Club. Maybe Liverpool.

The game just feels like it hasnt made any progress over the last 5 years if you play with teams thats not from the Premier League. Most players look and play totally generic and not even close to their real counterparts.

Normally I'd choose my home town team. FC Porto for that matter. But this year I'm kinda intrigued in using Tottenham, I always loved using them. Last year almost finished a career with 'em

I'm always excited for career mode in the new release...regardless of how little it was updated. I always try at least one new league, I'm thinking for 17 I'll do Japan and maybe the Swedish league. After that, I'll start one or two in the bigger league. I always choose a random team (I wish there was a button for random). So I just hold down Right and look away for 10 seconds. As long as its not a higher rated team in the league, I'll pick them.

I usually start with one of the smaller leagues - Sweden usually, but then head towards taking control of a League 2 EFL side (AFC Wimbledon last year).
Am i the only one who thinks FIFA actually needs less leagues and just concentrate on improving what they have?. I am maybe a biased seeing as I'm from the UK and the English Leagues are all there, but you have people clammering for this league and that league, but beyond playing the odd season as their fave team, where is the replay value in playing against the same 12/14/16 teams, especially in leagues outside Europe where there aren't any continental comps to keep things fresh. Surely they would be better off maybe including the top 3 leagues in say Spain, Germany, France and Italy rather than introducing the Chinese league or J league, because at the moment the only real option for a proper rags to riches career mode is the English leagues.

I totally see where you're coming from, and like your point about the league, I would actually add more!

Like you say about the chinese/Japanese leagues etc, unless there is an ACL etc then I agree about the replay value.

However, I feel that, stories of a red bull leipzig, while they are the most hated club in Germany, have risen from the bottom of German football to the top league, I love that kind of challenge. It keeps you entertained and engaged to do well.

The only problem with stuff like that is that the transfers/loans and even player training, is its too good to sign and get money, make players better etc.

I'd love to have a youngster that I had grown all the way from a one star team in the bottom league to my main man at the top, but we all know young players are snapped up, so why not introduce release clauses, etc.

Went on a bit of a rant there but I feel there is the capacity to add in multiple leagues from multiple countries to make the users experience even more interesting.

I have two new ideas brewing for FIFA 17. One is to start a career as Tim Howard and promptly retire on the first day to become a manager. Then I'll have to manage one of the available teams, which is likely to be in the MLS if he is on Colorado. I'll probably turn it into a journeyman type career where my goal is to take a team to win the Champions League.

Next idea is "Make AC Milan Great Again" where I manage the team as Donald Trump and make ridiculous transfers like releasing players for no reason or making the team slide tackle Mourinho on the sidelines just because.

I'll probably do both at some point. I also have been really enjoying my latest career of taking a team of random players from League 2 to the Premier League.
