I have the following ideas for this year's career mode:

1. I'll start with Toronto FC in MLS, as they are usually a tad overrated in the game compared to real life. My plan is to build my academy exclusively with Canadian talent with the intention of selling most players if they receive a bid from a European club from a top flight division. I will most likely eventually become the manager of the Canadian national team, and hopefully make a run at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. I will stick with TFC for 3-4 years (before it gets dull), then look to manage a European side to Champions League glory!

2. Start a career with Celtic with the intention of bringing them back to international powerhouse status. Sure, Celtic dominates the Scottish Prem, but they need to redeem themselves in Europe (especially after yesterday's 7-0 thrashing by Barcalona (why are they always in the same Champions League group?)). I would plan to do this by recruiting players from English speaking countries that aren't heavily prevalent in European competitions (Scotland, U.S.A, Canada, Australia, etc.), as well as keeping down Rangers from getting back to their old status as contenders in Scotland.

3. Shamrock Rovers: Taking a big fish in a small pond and seeing how far I can get them to go in the Champions League, before jumping ship.

4. Manchester Untied: With the new changes to Career Mode, it may be more challenging to play as my favorite club right from the beginning instead of trying to wait for them to falter when I am an established manager to take over the side.

5. A random team from the Portuguese, Dutch, or one of the second division teams of a top 5 nation.

I used Leipzig in 15. It was a ton of fun.

This year, my plan is this:

1. Brighton & Hove Albion- They became my favorite non-Premier League team because of FIFA, so I want to bring them up to the EPL and get them to a competitive level on the continental stage.

2. Manchester United- I like running with them for just a year or two, to get a feel for a big club and seeing what kind of damage I can do in Europe.

3. FC St. Pauli- Because why not take the Buccaneers of the League to the Bundesliga and beyond?

4. Valencia- Because someone has to take down the evil empire(s) in Spain.

5. FC Midtjylland- To try to get a team from Denmark to the top of Europe.

Out of those five, only the first two are for sure, but all are ones I'd like to try. There might possibly be a League 1 or 2 team thrown in there for good measure too.

France I will play with Strasbourg, it is 20 km from my old Hometown.
Germany I go with Dynamo Dresden, will be a good rivalry with RB Leipzig.
Italy either AC Milan or Inter.
EPL last year I played with Liverpool, this time I think I want to play in the new Stadium with West Ham.
Scotland Rangers would be interesting.
Spain, I never played with Real Madrid, could build a Allstar Team with them pretty fast, only I will never get Neymar or Messi then.

So many ideas, it will be fun play it.

I like to play in a new league whenever EA adds one, so I'll be starting my career in Japan.

Any details on the league yet? I'm curious as to its structure, size, etc.

I like to keep a few saves going throughout the fifa year.
This year I plan to do the following.

Sheffield Wednesday to return them to the top flight and into Europe.
Arsenal to turn them into a European superpower and manage a "big team".
Union Berlin to try and break the bayern dominance.
Torino or sassuolo as they have some great young talent.
Sporting gijon as I just like the kit and name plus it's a challenge.
I also like to do a south American team too. I have done Argentina and Mexico so will try Chile this time. I will do a couple of seasons scout some great talent then move to a smaller European league and be a journeyman.

Whether it's in FIFA or in Football Manager, I ALWAYS play with Middlesbrough and work them up into the BPL.

Its always overwhelming deciding who to be for me.

Last year I ended up doing 3 seasons with Fiorentina and really enjoying it, and then moved on to Man City for another 3. It was cool inheriting a team that the CPU had somewhat put together.

I also had a CM in year 2 with Stad Rennes but lost interest. Had a couple random CMs with Swansea and Brighton, but also lost interest.


This year I know for sure:

- Man City, although I was sad I couldnt choose to be Pep and had to pick an avatar (the hell EA?). Want to see if I can get a treble for City in Year 1 (or at least win the Prem + Champs League). Will prob be the main one I play for awhile.

- A League 1 team, to promote to the PL. Right now I'm deciding between Oxford United (like the logo and name, iffy on the Unis) and Fleetwood Town (like the unis better).

- An mid/tier Italian team, as I usually do. I'm thinking about possibly doing a financial takeover with Palermo, who I ran a great, 5 year CM with in Fifa 12.

Considering as well: Atletico Madrid

Obviously I'll roll with The Arsenal for my main CM.

But my 2nd favorite club Dortmund should be a load of fun this year developing the incredible young talent they have! I'll likely also use the international management item and develop the German national team too.
