    Nhl Legacy modding discord

Only join if you know how to mod legacy. I am trying to get as many modders as possible to group up on discord to create NHL Legacy Revamped.

Check out the NHL Legacy Overhaul community on Discord - hang out with 554 other members and enjoy free voice and text chat.

    Re: Nhl Legacy modding discord

I guess I'm just old and old school but I never got why discord is good for modders?
Locking up stuff in a channel you don't own...

I spent a ****load of time sharing info at OSR that was lost because the owner just decided he didn't want to support SVR anymore. Best is to use an open forum with a lot of history such as OS in my opinion.

Just open a thread here. Keep info open to attract new modders...

    But then... I'm old school.

You're gonna vastly limit your chances of really developing that community if right off the bat you bar anyone who doesn't know how to mod from being a part of the project.I don't have any clue how to mod and I've been a useful part of several communities for modding different sports games.

To each his own. Good luck.

I agree. The best way to increase the amount of helpful contributors is to keep everything open. When the amount of knowledge increases the next challenge is to organize the info. When we organized the wwe svr modding community it started in a thread at caws.ws, when the moderators there didn't want to allow modding the community made the incorrect choice of moving to OSR (based mainly on that one main content creator decided to make his content OSR exclusive). We should had moved to smacktalks which was a forum with great SVR history which today probably is the best modder community. But so much knowledge was lost at OSR that it's silly.

Therefor my advice would be to see if it was possible for a modding friendly user to become moderator of a legacy modding section here at OS. That way everyone can follow what happens, we can organize the section the way we see fit etc. Second best option is to just stick to one thread for now until we have too much info. A wiki could be used but then we need a trustworthy host that wont just steal the info or take it down.

Guess this is because I'm getting old but internet is **** today. Everyone is just trying to make money any way possible often by stealing other peoples work. So I don't trust using or investing in anyone elses locked community anymore.

            Re: Nhl Legacy modding discord

Ill post this so people know what's going on (and so I can get my rep up)

Basically the people who were modding this game packed up and left, so me and a couple others have decided to takeover and continue modding this game. Currently I am working on a 2022-23 season conversion while others are working on 2023-24 season conversion. This includes up****** a bunch of jerseys, icons, center ice, and much more. I am very close to releasing a beta version of the 2022-23 season conversion and will be releasing it in the discord once its ready.

Not only do we have work on NHL teams, we are also starting on the conversion for college hockey once again. I am personally not involved with this project so I cannot vouch to how far the project is. There is already a beta out in our discord if you would like to try it out.

Come check us out, contribute if you want, learn with the resource provide.

That is precisely what happened. One user got help from everyone else in the Discord and used their work, then he took everything and locked it behind a Patreon.

The entire Discord has yet to release anything because they are too particular. They want everything perfect, have to have all the teams, and keep limiting who can see information by setting up private groups. I told them to release things. Let others see what you do. Try to get people interested. Interest isn't created in a locked down bubble. But, that's what they keep doing.

Well this group is new, I wouldn't say I'm the one running it, but I am one of the people working on the project. I created this discord cause the original people working on the project got into an argument or something and locked everything up. Everything I post in this discord will be free for anyone to use, I will be releasing a beta here very soon
