    Fps?

What will the game play at, 30 or 60fps?

    30 fps 1080p on regular ps4 and xbox one, 60 fps 1080p or 30fps 4k on ps4 pro and xbone one x I believe.

So they are doing this for sure? Won't that give people a big advantage with the newer consoles? I have an Xbox one x, I will still get 60 fps if I am not on a 4K tv? I will be playing on a monitor for gaming.

So here’s the thing. They both play at 30fps, but on PS4 Pro it renders at 60fps. So you will get the button response and input time of a 30fps game, same as the base hardware but it’s rendered at 60fps. So you’re seeing 60fps but it plays at 30. Which is a shame but I get it, can’t have that much of an advantage. Would’ve been better if they knocked the graphics down a touch to give us 60fps for the simulation and the game though.

It should be mandatory for all sports games to be 60fps and thankfully almost all of them are. I'm pretty sure the graphics would still look incredible if they were altered to hit that target, a good example is the Fight Night series. Fight Night Round 4 was 60fps and then Champion improved the graphics some and was lowered to 30 but it wasn't a big difference at all.

It actually would prevent online play between the two consoles if the sim on the newer ones was done at 60.

I bet, the advantage would be huge and it probably wouldn’t work right at all. Did you ever consider trying to get the simulation to run at 60? Would’ve LOVED to have it at full 60 on base hardware and the Pro, even if you had to reduce the graphical fidelity.

No, the advantage would have been minimal, but we'd never be able to try because it would be literally impossible for a 30hz sim to play against a 60hz sim online the way the game's networking model works.

Minimal huh? Well I guess I was equating the difference to difference in response time which when you think about it might not make as much sense.

So was running the sim at 60hz not possible on base hardware? (Original PS4 and Xbox One)

For me the quicker response time is HUGE. EA UFC/UFC 3 always feels a little sluggish for a bit after coming from Undisputed 3. I mean I’ll adapt, I always do but the day we ever get a true 60fps will be amazing.

                    Not possible without removing features.

Really now? Hmm, so is it a memory issue then? That’s a shame, maybe when the next generation is ushered in we can get it? Guess it depends on the console specs of course but I’d love it. At the very least on the Pro we have it rendered at 60, which is better than nothing.

EDIT: Thank you for the answer, by the way. I’ve been wondering about that for a very long time now.

                        Not memory, performance.

Okay, so it IS performance. So say you stripped the effects, the anti aliasing and the shadows back (among other performance heavy graphical effects), would it leave more room for it? Or is it just that you’d have to lower the quality so much that it just wouldn’t look all that good at all? If so, I totally understand. Thanks for being so transparent too, really appreciate it.

Yeah, you'd have to remove some rendering features and probably take out the ref and guys outside the cage like rogan/buffer/ring girls/random dudes you never see.

Even though I'm still on PS4, I would not oppose that.

EDIT: I refer to the possibility of having true full 60fps on Pro.
