2017: 9-7, 2nd in AFC South (Wildcard)
Playoffs: Def. Bills 29-14 in Wild Card, Def. Raiders 9-3 in Divisional, Def. Steelers 32-10 in AFC CG
Super Bowl LII: Seahawks 31, Jaguars 16
After just three days of training camp, the Jacksonville Jaguars have suffered their first roster casualty. Branden Albert, the presumptive starting left tackle, has decided to retire from the NFL after nine seasons and two Pro Bowls, without having played a down for the Jags. His retirement announcement was full of thanks but short on explanation and void of an apology to a team which now has a shaken-up offensive line. Apparently Albert would rather go back “home” to Miami to tend to his businesses and complete his education than protect Blake Bortles’ blind side this season. It may also be no coincidence that The Jaguars had not offered Albert a new contract. If Albert remains retired, the Jags will get back their 2018 7th round pick from Miami, and Albert will owe the team $3.4 million in bonus money.
2017 second round pick Cam Robinson is now the front-runner to be J-Town’s opening day starter at left tackle. That could be unfortunate for both him and the team. Robinson did not arrive in Jacksonville without some developmental concerns, and some draft pundits believed he was better-suited to play guard in the NFL. There was talk of kicking Robinson inside to guard to play next to Albert and hone his craft before eventually succeeding Albert. Now, unless something drastic happens to change the situation, it appears that Robinson is going to get dumped directly into the left tackle frying pan.
Looking forward to another great Mudcat madden report!

Thank you one and all.
I’m really looking forward to seeing the game on the Frostbite engine. Unfortunately it appears little has changed in the gameplay. At least that’s one explanation being given for EA not releasing gameplay footage. Fortunately we have our slider gurus to help us hammer the game into some form of submission.
Looking forward to Fournette eating, more so now that Albert is gone. Could be 2017 is going to be
