Sorry folks, but I'm not tired nor did I lose focus. I was contemplating INCREASING pitch speed pre patch bc I was worried I was hitting too well. Post patch I've actually DECREASED pitch speed and still aren't hitting that well. I'm late on fastballs and way ahead of curves. This isn't placebo.

Literally nothing was changed with pitch speeds. If it had have been they would have said so in the patch notes. I had a few games after the patch where I crushed the ball, but I'm back to normal now. I'm not sure why people are seeing this difference. We go through this every single patch every single year.

So everyone else hasn’t seen any changes except for you and your conclusion is that everyone else is wrong and it’s not placebo?

You must’ve gotten some magic patch installed in your game then.

Are you taking any drugs? That can certainly do it as well. I am on a lot of medications and my timing gets really messed up at times.

The only drug I'm currently taking is fentanyl.

in all seriousness, the only thing I can think of is that the stride timing was made slightly later and my swing/no swing decision-making was tied to the earlier visual and now it's making me late.

If you moved from one difficulty up to the next then pitch speed increases without the slider moving. 5 speed on HoF is faster than 5 speed on all star. Simply put. That's all I can think of.

I'm on HOF with dynamic difficulty off.

I'm finding i'm getting a lot more strikeouts against the AI post patch. anyone else finding the CPU takes more bad swings?

I lowered the difficulty so it could be that plus I only played one game, but pre patch I was ahead on all breaking balls while last year any breaking ball over the plate was pretty much a guaranteed extra base it. In the one game I played post patch the timing felt exactly like last years

Changing the difficulty absolutely does affect pitch speed. That part is definitely not placebo. If that needs to be confirmed, go into practice mode on, say, allstar and watch a few 4 seam fastballs go by. Then turn the difficulty up to GOAT - the speed difference will be very obvious lol. It's clearly not that drastic a change going from, say, All-Star to HOF, but it still exists.

This goes for Dynamic Difficulty too, so if you promote/demote a level you could see the pitch speed change happen mid-game.

I have a question about the pitch speed sliders. Maybe it’s old age, but I wasn’t reacting to fast balls as well as I used to, and maybe speeds are different with this years version, but I don’t think they are. None the less, I was late on most fast balls so I lowered the fast ball pitch speed slider. I know breaking balls have their own slider, which I didn’t touch. But all the other pitches seem slower after lowering fast balls. I’m hardly swinging and missing at anything now. Does the fast ball slider actually effect other pitches as well, or does it just make them seem slower since I’m seeing fast balls better?

100% they ruined pitching vs the CPU imo… they swing at absolute junk now, just like they did last year, and because of that their offence has dropped significantly. I’m pitching on GOAT using pinpoint and was consistently allowing almost 10 hits or more per game, and some games where their offence goes off for 10 plus runs which was amazing as for far too long the series was way to easy pitching vs the CPU. Now they struggle to get 5 hits and score over 3 runs per game just like it’s been for years .. the game kinda sucks at the moment IMO. User hitting also feels way off, the number of hits per game I hit are low, but out of them honestly like 50% are home runs.. everything feels off

Pitching/cpu hitting has been the same experience for me now as it was when the game first launched. I have games that I record double digit strikeouts and games where I struggle to get any, and then a healthy mix in between.

I haven't experienced the CPU decision making on pitches to swing at to be any different now than before. Sometimes they chase and sometimes they hold up on a pitch that I honestly can't believe they laid off.

How do you explain their chase rate going from 30% average (50 or more games played pre patch 10) to 50% average post patch (25 games played) ? That 20% makes a massive difference imo

I'm not sure that I need to explain. My experience is that nothing has changed. I don't see a difference in the cpu hitting now versus when the game first released. Simple as that.
