MLB The Show 25 - Let's Track Who Is Using Torpedo Bats

DonkeyJote put together the first helpful list in the patch notes thread, but I think this should have its own thread since it's actually not easy to find a running list of who is dabbling in the torpedo bats, and it doesn't seem like SDS assigned the bats to anyone either. So I'm going to put a list below but feel free to add more players, especially if you think you've seen some guys from your favorite team(s) using them -- or abandoning them after using them.

(Also bonus points if you know the brand of torpedo bat any of these guys are using)

    Orioles: Adley Rutschman, Jud Fabian

Yankees: Cody Bellinger, Jazz Chisholm, Paul Goldschmidt, Anthony Volpe, Austin Wells

    Rays: Junior Caminero, Yandy Diaz

Red Sox: Roman Anthony (ordered them, and is of course still in Triple A but worth noting since he’s a top prospect)

    Blue Jays: Davis Schneider

    Twins: Carlos Correa, Ryan Jeffers

Guardians: Steven Kwan (has at least tested them), Daniel Schneemann

    Angels: Jo Adell

    Athletics: Brent Rooker

Mariners: Cal Raleigh (only from the left side), Randy Arozarena (seems to go back and forth)

    Rangers: Joc Pederson

    Marlins: Kyle Stowers

    Mets: Francisco Lindor

Phillies: Alec Bohm (has backed off the usage as of late), Bryson Stott (same deal), Bryce Harper (purchased some)

Nationals: Amed Rosario, Robert Hassell III

    Cubs: Nico Hoerner, Dansby Swanson

Reds: Elly De La Cruz, Jose Trevino, Blake Dunn, Santiago Espinal

Brewers: Oliver Dunn, Daz Cameron, Rhys Hoskins

    Pirates: Oneil Cruz, Spencer Horwitz

    Dodgers: Enrique Hernandez

    Giants: Patrick Bailey

In theory, IRL base ball, torpedo bats are believed by their users to give them better hits when barreled up perfectly square on the sweet spot.
If their believe is indeed true, over time there will be sufficient data available proving them right or wrong.
If it is true, I hope Sony developers incorporate perfect perfect his as higher chance of base hits wIth Show Torpedo bats than non-torpedo bats.
If those numbers don't prove that, I'm not nearly as much interested in MLBTS Torpedo bats.

Not directly related to MLBTS but I highly recommend y'all watch the SABR webinar from last month on the topic of torpedo bats with experts from around the industry:

They absolutely should not have any impact on gameplay, they should remain cosmetic only. Any improvements players see while using Torpedo bats should be reflected in ratings changes.

And I don't believe it's about getting better sweet spot contact, it's about decreasing the weight of the bat by getting rid of some weight where the player doesn't typically hit the ball. The torpedo bats are only useful to players who tend to hit the ball on a specific part of the bat.

Really, SDS should get rid of the "perfect" and ball it "barrelled" or something so maybe people will cry less when the ball is caught.

I don't know what the data will bear out over the course of the year, but I could see this resulting in a minor boost.

Cal Raleigh said he's using it from the left side for his close misses.

I remember a handful of warning track shots he had from the left side last year. He's on an unholy tear right now. I don't expect him to sustain this pace. But what if he does?

Can't say the torpedo bat didn't play some role in that.

Ronald Acuna Jr. has been using a torpedo bat the last couple of games.
