They've done a right job on the A's. The line-up is whacked too. Seth Brown plays twice, no 3B etc. Changing the player just puts the new player in the line-up twice.
Doing the custom roster trick gets around this too.Dedicated member of the CPU v CPU worldwide brethren.Comment

Yeah, went through all the MLB level teams and it's just the A's. There's a joke somewhere in here concerning that but I'll let it slide.
Not even their minor league affiliates are affected in exhibition - it's just the MLB team.

Steps I've taken to work around this:
1. Load live roster
2. Goto roster control and move anyone on the A's to MLB
3. Auto fix the roster
4. Save as custom roster
5. Load custom roster
That should hopefully help, but definitely a bug as bcruise says.Comment

Between that and the duplicate seth brown, I think it's safe to say these two problems are linked - if you see the double seth brown in the lineup you're going to see the first A's pitcher in a game throwing eephuses. And they're probably both caused by some kind of corrupted data in the A's roster because having two identical players in the lineup in the same defensive position shouldn't even be possible - I'm kind of amazed it's not crashing the game.
As Ninjoid said, the game's Auto-fix process does correct this (both issues).Comment

It was the roster update and not the patch that messed them up, correct?Comment

Bit more info I included on my report - Gio Urshela seems to be the player whose data was overwritten by the duplicate Brown - he still shows up as an MLB player in the Player Movement/Manage Roster screens but he's nowhere to be found in the lineup or bench. However, when "both" Browns are in the lineup, Urshela will be in the field, playing 3rd base.Comment

On a different note- if you play a game in the "daily lineups" option it messes up the rotation and puts a reliever in the rotation and moves the closer to long relief. Been this way a couple weeks now.Baseball junky....Comment
