Position player coming in as pitcher

So, I was getting killed by the Redsox(16-3 after 7), and it occurred to me. I could not find a way to bring in a position player to pitch.

I know the MLB rules are you have to be loosing by 8 or more runs, which I was. But I could not figure out how to do this.

I don't think that is an option in the game.

In the age of the universal DH, its a little more complex to pull off but its still doable.

For the sake of argument, lets say we're talking about a game within franchise Mode, in which DH's are being employed.

First what you have to do is sacrifice your DH spot by bringing the DH into play a defense position, swapping in the DH and losing that position player for the game duration.

Second, you have to pinch-hit for the pitcher with a position player and next half inning your position player will be on the mound. Once your position player has twenty innings pitched within franchise Mode, I *think* you can then keep your DH and straight up put your position player off the bench to pitch, because with twenty innings pitched your position player should have the designated two-way player icon. At least that's how its supposed to work.
      T-BONE.

      Talking about things nobody cares.

Makes sense. I’ll give that a try next time.

Just want to point out, you can get the position player in quicker than waiting for the pinch hit spot to come up for the pitcher. Swap positions with DH to a position to sacrifice the DH. Then swap positions with the pitcher in the lineup with whoever you want pitching. Then make sure to sub the pitcher out of the position it put them in.

Fun fact: it will not show a position player’s pitching stats in the box score.
