Does Anyone Know Why the AI Only Signs Catcher FA's During the Season in Franchise?

Once or twice in a season, the AI might sign a really good player to fill an injury spot (like if I import Trevor Bauer, a team will probably sign him eventually), but otherwise, it seems the AI only signs catchers, even when there are other good (or great) FAs available. I know it has been this way a for a few years, but I remember older version not having this problem (AI teams would sign good FA or international players if you imported them into the FA pool). Does anyone know why the AI fixates on catchers now?

Catchers are the "highest priority" position in the game to the AI in terms of assuring they have enough players to meet roster demands. Unlike other positions, the catcher spot rarely has positional players that list catcher as a secondary position therefore putting primary positional catcher at the top of the list of positions to fill due to injuries.

I play 30 team control and have FA signing set to "Manual" for every team but somehow the CPU will still sign a catcher at random times throughout the season automatically.

The developer(s) for signing and drafting players do not appear to be aware of some key aspects of the game. I've stopped complaining and just enjoy the mistakes the cpu teams make.

What a completely unfounded, unsubstantiated, and grossly ignorant comment to make.

Especially considering that you have proven time and time again that your “examples of ineptness on the developers part” is founded on sheer ignorance.

I cant imagine Sony isnt aware, I figure its more likely they designed those key aspects in a way that whatever complaints there are, they will diedown eventually so you can enjoythe game the AI gives you.
