Would this indicate some kind of significant advancement in console graphics, in any way?

The specific mention of "real-time graphics systems" makes me think they could be starting to implement ray-tracing/path-tracing into the game's lighting system, which would be huge. Real-time global illumination and/or ambient occlusion, even ray-traced shadows would transform the look of The Show. It could also potentially mean real-time physics simulation, possibly with regards to either cloth sim in terms of the uniforms, or even naturalistic or dynamic weather/wind simulation.

Whether these would come to the console version is to be determined, but many of these features do exist in current PS5 games, but they may need to be locked to a 30 FPS "fidelity mode". With Sony being the first party publisher and developer, I'd imagine they wouldn't invest too much into something that they couldn't feature on their own proprietary console. Whether it being on the PS5 or just gearing up for PS6 (which is expected to release in 2 years).

Good if true. Might even bring me back to the series if optimized/maximized well, and introduces some modding opportunities.

Could be for some kind of tool, helper or companion app. Doesn't mean it's the full game.

I doubt it but we can have a dream for a PC Roster editor

                From the article:

San Diego Studio [...] seeks a Senior Graphics PC Programmer to “join our team in advancing the visual and technical quality of a AAA PC title.”
They would not be hiring for a position like this is it were just for an app. They want someone who specializes in real-time graphics rendering.
