Is MLBTS26 going to be released for Switch 1 AND Switch 2?
I think if its Switch 2 ONLY, 26 will be a better looking game than MLBTS25.

Hopefully SDS drops the original Switch for 26. I'm really not sold that graphics with improve that much for 26 regardless. If SDS has been programming 26 to still be cross platform it puts a cap on PS5 and XSX even if Switch 2 is the only Nintendo console to have the game released on.

The Switch version of 25 didn't receive the updated uniform fit or the new grass and dirt system of the current gen versions, so I'd think it's pretty safe to assume that they have abandoned graphical updates for the Switch, and there's no reason to assume that it's existence is still holding the other versions back visually. If I had to guess, the Switch was never the issue, I think it hasmore to do with their proprietary engine, and valuing performance over fidelity in every case. Like I'm sure they'd have liked to make the game look as good as it's peers, but every graphical enhancement comes with some cost to performance, and SDS might not have had the bandwidth or resource to iron out performance issues caused by new graphical features in the 9 months it takes to make the game every year. Since we are finally starting to see some visual changes in recent years, that could be starting to change, but I still wouldn't expect a big jump at any point, just incremental improvement.

When it comes to graphics, I've mentioned this many times that a complete revamp or different engine isn't necessary to demonstrate positive impact. The glaring graphics issues for me are legacy issues (occurring 10 years plus) like the city skylines (many of the buildings look completely dark at night - put more lights on or the crooked top of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis!), not to mention other graphical eyesores like the lo-res terrain beyond the outfield walls in Dodger Stadium and Angels Stadium or the "blue blotches" that show off the outfield lights during the cut scenes of night games. I don't know if the blue blotches are supposed to represent glare from the lights, but it is unappealing.

Fix those graphical issues along with the drop in graphical quality with the cut scenes (not related to on-field action) and that would be a noticeable and very positive improvement with the game's graphics.

Agree completely. The new player models and faces look really good and the stadium structures and lighting are nice as well. Just need to clean up the textures that exist in the background and it goes a long way to making the game look that much better.

The lighting fixes they made to the stadium signs last year where historically they were just a sign but then finally lit up for night games is the perfect example of this. It made the stadium look much more alive last year.
