Nice to see this thread pop up today to help take a step back and put things into perspective. The worst thing I've got going on is that my cat died last night. Not to downplay that (because it sucks), but the crappiness of it is also something that will heal itself with time. I don't have to keep an eye on it or treat it like the physical stuff some of the other guys here are going through. I'm hoping for the best for everyone.

I'm also grateful to have a lot of solid sports games and OS to take our minds off of things for a while sometimes. It's not the biggest community online but even with the rocky new OS, it's nicer to have it here than not.

Losing a pet is terrible, we have had many over the years and currently have 3 cats and 2 dogs, sorry for you loss.

They are like kids to us and I'm blessed to work from home, taking care of them is my 2nd job.

We have a 5 year old Yorkie and I think she takes care of me. She is the source of my exercise !

I'm praying for you all, cancer is horrible, my mother just passed last year to lung cancer and my mother in law to pancreatic cancer a month before that.

Thank you for your service KT and DT, I served 4 years in the Marines and was part of Desert Storm. I thank God everyday that I wake up and I'm blessed to be able to have a great job, family life and the means to still play video games at 55.

Semper fi! You and I served in the Marinex aat the same time it sounds like. I was in from ‘90 - ‘95 and am also 55. I had the “pleasure” of working at the brig for five years. Which, at the time, was a maximum security prison. Let me tell you, we locked up some pretty messed up guys, which, like everyone else has stated in this thread, helps me keep things like video game baseball in perspective.

Prayers definitely going out to all those here who are suffering in mind, body or spirit.

I have been blessed in my life with a great family and friends, but like you I look forward to seeing my bride every morning and that hot cup of Italian roast coffee and then if I feel good a game.
Yes, I do look forward to the new game every March, it’s a marker as I turn another year older, the new game drops and MLB kicks off.
I have been busy the past three weeks in Missouri as my mom has been battling health issues, I finally found a good nice skilled nursing facility for her. She is 88 and battling Parkinson’s. We just got home to Texas late last night. Keep fighting my brothers.

Hey Ron, wondered why I hadn’t heard from you. Sorry to hear about your mom. ‘A marker’….good way to explain it. We take things for granted when we’re younger too much at times. Fast pace of life. I to am very grateful for both The Show and OS. My story has been told so I wont do it here. At times have handled my problems both well and poorly. But I am here. Thanks to the Grace of The Good Lord, members here, Devs, the game, and the sport itself. I stll struggle with issues but I get up everyday and Baseball can get me through some tough nights. Thank you all
