I’m not what you would call an educated man by any means but I can’t seem to wrap my head around this new trade system or the reasoning behind it. So you can’t tell how interested the cpu team may be in the trade you are offering? And when you do offer a trade it might take a week for them to answer yes or no? I understand it’s probably more realistic but some things in a video game should be a little less. Maybe I’m missing something?

I'm not a smart man but I know what love is Menny, and I'm not loving everything about the new system.Originally posted by MannybeingMannyI’m not what you would call an educated man by any means but I can’t seem to wrap my head around this new trade system or the reasoning behind it...
(Don't get me wrong, there's so much more to love than not, but...)
I know trades are like a box of chocolates, never know what you're gonna get, but if I offer the Yankees Nolan McLean for a 30 year old D potential that is 70 overall, they in the Bronx are gonna need more than five seconds to jump on it? I guess I'm going to chalk it up to the Yankees wanting due diligence waiting for a clean bill of health from a McLean physical.
This trade is taking too long. I got to pee.

Re: New trade system
I haven’t tried it out, but I like the idea because it’s more realistic to how trades happen in real life. They take a bit of time over a few days to get them across the line. Looking forward to testing it out to see how it actually works. Especially for the trade deadline. I hope more games do what NHL’s trade deadline is where it’s essentially its own mini mode and trades happen real time. Makes it feel like you are really shopping around to get the right deals and just focusing on that.👍 2Comment

Re: New trade system
If you have 30 team control on and have each team set to manual trades, you can go to the other team’s trade hub and accept the trade.

Re: New trade system
Or decline it, if it's a dumb trade.
I actually like this way better (they had it a few years ago, as well)
That way those of us who do 30 man control can eliminate dumb CPU trades👍 2Comment

Re: New trade system
Like how they addressed the trades for players with new contracts. Hopefully they will address the wonkiness with the addition of the 4th trade spot. Way too many 4 for 4 trades where teams are trading 4 players off their mlb roster. In the 60 or so trades last year, there were zero 4 for 4 or 4 for 3 trades. The most common trades were 1 mlb player for 2 players.Comment

Re: New trade system
Well, not exactly. Each team has a list of like 3 positions they are seeking so you do have a general idea of their priority.
If it says a team will get back to you in a few days, does that mean the trade is accepted if they don't immediately reject your offer?
Or has someone been rejected after waiting four days?Point/Counter Point.

Re: New trade system
It took me a week to get rejected by one team. For me to offer top prospects again and it took another week to get denied. So two weeks to be told no.

Re: New trade system
Nothing realistic about that at all. Id argue waiting a few days is even unrealistic. I doubt teams in real life are sitting and pondering trades for days. It may take days to hash out a deal back and forth but the idea of a team sitting on an offer for a week is asinine.Comment

Re: New trade system
Especially when I was just seeing how the system works and offered a terrible player for a great pitcher. The second offer wasn’t much of an improvement either. I’m just having a hard time understanding the reasoning for this? I might be missing something?Year 20 of playing MLB The Show!

Re: New trade system
This whole "waiting a few days" for an answer is going to be very problematic on deadline day, where trades are often completed in minutes and hours. If I remember correctly, someone said that on deadline day you would receive an answer at the end of the day (when you sim to the next day), which takes all the fun of last minute wheeling and dealing out of it.
