Alright, when I play RTTS I just wanna hit. I don't want to have to do anything else because I suck at the first person aspect of playing defense and baserunning. In previous editions of The Show I could do that. But now I can't. There's a completely separate setting for catcher when it comes to defense and no "none" option like there is for INF/OF. It's beyond frustrating because trying to catch a pitch is hard. Then I had a pop up I completely whiffed on cause I just couldn't track the ball. Brutal. I just don't understand why SDS would make it to where if you are a catcher you can't skip playing defense.

Agreed that they need the “none” option, but if you only care about hitting can’t you just pick a different position?
EDIT: so I tested this out and when I chose “impact plays”, I never had to play as catcher. It only gave me ABs. So have you tried using that setting?Last edited by MiracleMet718; 04-11-2026, 11:19 PM. -

That's the setting I have it on and I've had to do a few catching plays. They tend to be few and far between but they're definitely there.
And yes, I could choose a different position, but catcher is my favorite position and I wasn't aware of the issue until after I started my RTTS and I don't feel like trying to figure out how to process the request to change positions deal.Atlanta Braves
