I`m curious to see if Fielding Independent Pitching (FIP) is on there. Love that stat.

Defense Independent ERA (abbreviated DIPS) is in the game and has been for a few years, although it's buried pretty deep in the player stats. It used to be a part of the Advanced Stats DLC years ago, but I think it's just available to everyone now. Is that basically the same as what you're referring to?

There's no league leader listing of it though - you just have to go through the player statistics screen.

hmmm I`ll check that out after this game I`m currently playing. Sounds close to FIP. Thanks for the response anyway

I thought someone said that there was something hard-coded into the basic framework on which the entire game is built that either prevents or makes extremely difficult compiling the kinds of stats we baseball fans have come to expect. Plus, the PS3 was basically maxed out. With that said, they'll be looking to add more and more useful/dorky statistics with coming iterations.

I'll see if I can find it.

Took a while, but I found it. Some of this is speculation, but it's Knight's "speculation" so I tend to trust it. There are a few more interesting tidbits in that thread. Link at the bottom.

Comparing it to MVP or any other games stat tracking and saying "they can do it....so can SCEA" isn't exactly correct.

                    1. It is definitely legacy code and probably goes back to the first iteration of MLB 'XX. It may have been poorly coded at the time and that's why it is such a hog inasmuch as space(and saving from year to year....the amount of tracked data IN season is right up there with the best of them....so it's not tracked but saved....so you might have to "buy it")

2.To point to stats and say "they did it better" while disregarding the things The Show does better is only showing one side of the coin. SCEA started moving in one direction and has yet to change it's course. They hear us, but it's going to take rewriting a lot of that portion of the game to accommodate the PS4's capabilities.

With the amount of work for this first version(writing for all three consoles separately) and Ramone saying the feature sets are identical....I'm thinking '14 may not even see year to year stat tracking this time around.

When talking with Aaron, Luis and Lance last year.....they do have something in mind that is out of the norm in regards to this....but we'll have to see what shakes out with it.

I'd be happy.....for this year.....to just have the regular season stats carry over to the Post Season for viewing and being shown and talked about in playoff games.

BUT...at some point....yes......year to year tracking is a "must" IMO.

Thanks for finding that. Definitely would be cool to see year-to-year tracking
