I'm thinking the same code for FB catching enables HR catching too. Makes sense.

I think they would have specified foul balls and homers if that were the case though.

It seems to me that it would be a bit stupid to have only the fans in foul territory be able to catch balls... I'd be willing to bet my paycheck every fan can catch any ball, home run or not. I doubt there is a separate coding for a foul ball or a home run and more so just coding for how fans react to it in general.

The crowds in the PS3 version were comprised of about 42 different models, so you will still see some copies out there. Now, since the PS4 has much more power, the crowd is made up of over 1,000 unique models. Each crowd model is made up of the same polygon count of a baseball player in the PS3 version of the game (and they’ve even included kids into the crowd now).

Crowd members will now catch foul balls and be able to reach over and grab fouls that roll by. They’ll also hold signs up, and those signs will be contextual. So if a player starts heating-up, you’ll probably see some fans rooting him on in this manner. Seems pretty clear, no mention of home runs.

I get your reasoning here, and that it doesn't say home runs... but seriously, think about it. How stupid will it look if there is an imaginary line of fans from the foul pole over who can catch. I just cannot imagine this will be the case. A ball in the stands is a ball in the stands, foul or fair.

I passed this issue about the Blue Jays color on to our character art team with some screenshots and pictures from real life. They are looking into it, so hopefully the color will get adjusted. With that said, please don't take this as a guarantee.

But there's nothing new here. This is a 2yo complaint and then suddenly , 1 month away from release you pass it to the art team as if it's a brand new prob found?

Everytime someone was complaining about it here they got the same reply over and over again "sorry it's 'cause of the mlb style guide"

What's going on now with the style guide? Can it be bypassed?

It was never about the style guide, that's just what people with no knowledge said it was about.

I'm almost positive i saw a post by Russel_SCEA saying they didn't have a jersey in house to look at, so they just went with what blue they thought was most correct. Or something like that.

Here's the problem with that. The MLB style guide is the official authority on uniforms and authorized looks for the MLB. If SCEA just decides to change something that doesn't fit in accordance with the guide, then it's not reflecting the MLB, and THEN are probably in violation of something legal, not to mention MLB could pull their licenses if such things happen... so SCEA "plays by 'the book'" lol.

I think they're referring to foul balls that are on the field (the ones that fans reach over for but seemingly never touch).

I'm hoping they can catch balls that land out of play.

I'm pretty sure the devs differentiated that the crowd will catch FB's, AND reach over and scoop FB's as well. sooooo

Eh, you're right now that I read it again. I'm sure they can catch home runs too then. I'm not certain, but I think there can't be much of a coding difference between the two. Can there?

Well after seeing these screenshots - I just can't justify picking up the PS3 version with knowing full well what lies only a month ahead on the PS4 version. I equate it to dating the decent looking sister of the really hot chick. Yeah - she's not ugly, but she ain't her sister either.

Especially if the hot sister says she's about to break up with her bf for you in a week or two...

I disagree. IMO it was a lot harder to distinguish what was real life and not in 2k14. Body molds were incredible, best facial expressions period, best jersey physics, and best lighting in any game regardless the genre. Just my opinion though.

Meh, they'll reach up and it will actually land somewhere (instead of "going through" like back in the day), but it bounces around a lot as well most of the time, as if the fans completely missed it.

It was when talking about MLB 13, but yeah - that was said. They may have received a Blue Jays jersey since then, of course.
