It's that time of year again...Show Forum Version

There were some places I never thought I would have to post this...

From now until this post is unstickied, IMMEDIATE and PERMANENT bans will be handed out for any infractions in The Show forums. A few examples that will get you banned include, but are not limited to:
    • Attacking other users (let me add that this INCLUDES attacking a user who has posted a constructive criticism of the game because you think you police this forum and not the moderators)
    • Trolling (Explained in the TOS in Steve's Forum)
    • Inciting post riots (Akin to yelling 'Fire' in a movie theater. Claiming you have the game when you do not. Claiming you know things about the game that you don't actually know)
    • Being a jerk (Common sense, really. Think before you push the 'Post' button.)

I hate posting these threads, but the forum has become abysmal on both sides of the coin. People can't post a negative reaction to the game with the 'cavalry' coming to attack the poster, not his thought. And some of the negative posters just can't seem to post constructively.

It ends now, either with everyone shaping up, or a lot of people being shipped out.

I am leaving the thread open to discussion from anyone who wishes to post. You will not be banned for expressing your opinion in this post, and as long as you do it in a civil manner.

I like it. Nothing wrong with being civil.

We'll see. The people who like it are agreeing with this.. We'll see if they actually abide by what was stated above and stop mocking other people ( the ones who don't say things that are so ridiculous or obvious trolling, of course).

That Bcruise, man. Nothing but trouble.

Guess I'm not sure what you're getting at here. Are you saying that you're looking at Millenium's post as a kind of petition and the likes as some kind of signature?

Serious question. I come in peace. Are you saying the people that liked the post are also the one's trolling or did I totally read you wrong. Could you clarify?

Just so you know (if you do feel like you're getting trolled or flamed), each and every post can be reported. The moderators are then made aware of the post and do investigate each request.

The Show Forums are normally very civil. This time of year is always an exception though. This year has been uniquely awful. Millennium's post was sorely needed and I hope it sets a nice tone as baseball begins.

You know I'm branded for life too despite what I post, having been to community day before.

To mets: We like the post and idea because we enjoy having and reading civil discussions, and unfortunately measures like this have been proven necessary in order to keep the peace. That's it.

This has nothing to do with me. I'm just saying that the people who like this must be agreeing with what is said. Why else like it? And what I'm getting at is that finally the hammer has been put down and the ones who are not trolling will stop getting bombarded with snarky comments and all that. Just because someone notices something that isn't correct (Blue Jays shade of blue) doesn't mean they're trolling or complaining. Now people won't get away with mocking/ attacking them, so to speak.

Except when it has been discussed over and over and over again and explained countless times in numerous threads by Devs, Mods & Vets, yet they dont let it go because they seem to detect some hidden conspiracy.
At some point, THAT becomes trolling.

Im not saying YOU specifically, but people in general and especially new people.

Say your peace, drop it and go.

                Are u crazy!

Agree, I feel like no one can ever say anything they don't like about the game here. Which is sad. So hopefully this helps.

Asking the dreaded "When are the rosters expected to be done" in the OSFM Roster thread should be a bannable offense too. You'll ban half the forum with that rule

but seriously guys just don't post that stuff because it destroys that thread and ends up getting it locked almost every year. The answer is almost always available in the first post of the thread which Knight keeps updated

I dunno. All that seems like common sense stuff to me. Meaning, it should be understood not to be a jerk in an online forum or insult someone because they have a different view than yours.

To clarify, if you have played the game but don't physically own it you would be well advised not to post your impressions. Information such as names of generated players on default rosters will not be accepted as proof of having seen the game.

Better to wait until after the game has gone public.

Don't worry. We make sure to confirm someone owns the game before they can post impressions.

If you are talking about playing it a Best Buy kiosk or something. There has never been an issue with people who play the game and reporting back your thoughts. Hell I think I did this one year and posted some game play vids, not as proof, but just to show others something while they were are work or whatever.

Yeah. I did that for MLB 12 and Steve posted the videos I recorded here for everyone.
