The PS4 shot is a picture of it on a TV lol. It'd be like me taking a picture of my TV with my phone now and uploading it. Where as the PS3 shot is 1080p and an actual shot.

If you were just joking, ignore me lol. Not being a turd just explaining!

The best comparison would be if you took a picture of the ps3 version on the tv, then compared it to the ps4 version picture of the tv. Boom. #greatnesswaits

Based on the batter's shadows it's a different time of day so it's kind of hard to compare.

Hard to assume the start time of either game and I don't know what direction Fenways faces but based on the fact the bottom picture is in the 5th inning it's highly likely that was a day game and possible the ps3 picture is the first inning of a night game with the sun starting to go down.

And if they are both day games it's more than likely lighting will be different from the first inning to the fifth.

I better comparison would show shots from the exact same scenario.

Gee, looking at those I wouldn't really say the PS3 wins, but I'd say... how the hell does anybody think this is a fair comparison at all? The camera shot is just horrid, as far as a shot goes. Based on the screenshots we've seen, I can't take this comparison worth a grain of salt.

Knowing what we've seen though, the lighting and colors are just so much more accurate. Better? I can't tell from the camera snapshot. I'm certain they are, though.

Can't wait till we get direct video captures. That will be the best comparison leading up to release!

EDIT: Heh, I have to start reading the rest of the thread before posting.

The PS4 screens posted last week are miles ahead of anything the PS3 has ever done. The topic starter is definitely trying to stir the pot. There isn't really any doubt the PS4 finished product is going to blow us away. I'm not sure why there are any doubts. After the PS3 and Vita release, the PS4 version will get the full spotlight. I can't wait for May 6th. I'm now a proud PS4 owner, and there is no turning back!!

The screens posted last week were not gameplay though. They were cherry picked replay shots that might or might not have been touched up. The kind of shots you see in Game Informer. The pic from Australia is closer to what we'll actually be playing come May than the shots posted last week.

Not necessarily true. The one they played in Australia is likely an old build. Plus, we don't really know what it looks like because we have not seen it in person. In all honesty I would bet it will look twice as good as those screens. It always does.

I am excited for SCEA to just release a legitimate video so people will stop referring to a cell phone picture of a TV.

San Diego Studios doesn't do bullshots and replay mode is no different from actual gameplay, just fyi.

I noticed in that video, the shadows were just beginning to approach the field and it was the 7th inning, so maybe they fixed the daygame lighting to further make it appear to match the start times. 1:20 games looked like 3:05 in the past few versions of The Show.

Night games were spot on though. It was a nice touch seeing fading sunlight on the field in June, but having it be pitch dark at the start of playoff games as the seasons (Spring to summer to autumn) progressed.
Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!

As far as start times, yes night games were spot on. However, they had pretty bad transition problems. I'm hoping on the PS4 they will finally get the "eight o'clock summer" dark blue transition in there properly. They never quite got this right on the PS3 version.

I hate to inform you but every single screen shot we have ever released is taken in game using replay. We have never altered any screencap.
