Yeah, I posted how I didn't like this last year and got shut down by Ramone. Not sure why it got tossed asside since I feel its a completely valid point/complaint and looks awful with how frequent it happens if you ask me. Its a rare occurance in the MLB, yet it happens constantly in The Show.

That is actually a really cool idea that I would totally use in blowout games, or with super flashy players. The OF version of this would probably be when an OF will barehand a one-hop basehit in order to throw the ball off quicker.

Another "showtime" option for in IF could be a gloveflip, like the great play that Alexei Ramirez made his rookie year as a 2B....

Also, love that Brandon Phillips took that "Showtime" catch phrase from Hawk Harrelson when a Sox player makes a slick play.

Madden? I think you mean 2K baseball, which used to have a "showboat" button that made outfielders spin around and catch a ball behind their back, or through their legs. That was a fun option, but not very realistic since OFers NEVER do that. But a barehanded or gloveflip button would be fun AND realistic as long as there is a heavy risk/reward that will deter users from doing it more than a few times a week.

DO NOT add a showtime button. That's step 1 towards going into arcade mode. Don't ruin what you have.

If it's a button you have the option of not using it. It's really not that hard considering it won't be something you absolutely have to use in order to play the game. I could see it maybe being annoying for online players but that's about it. This could really end up being a very cool feature though.

The "ShowTime Button" was already in a baseball game, remember MLB 99 for PS One. It was called the incredible play button. It was a good Try but it was already invented.

I think the concern with this isn't that its not required, but more that some people may have trouble using it and would miss out on a really cool feature. They may want to use those animations, but aren't great at using the "button". I think having it triggered automatically based on how high a player's ratings are is the best way to handle this, but have the option to only have it triggered manually if you want that difficulty. Maybe just a difference between the default difficulty setting and HoF or Legend.
