Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Hey, AC, since you're a Jays fan (I think) I was wondering if you'd input on some of these trades. I wish I had chose 30 team but I totally forgot and by the time I remembered and seen this thread I was well in and not wanting to sim back to place.

Angels(32-48, 9.0 GB WC): Send (RP) De La Rosa. 2.98 ERA, 51 IP, 43K

    Jays(42-21, .5 GB WC): Send (SP) Buehrle. 4.20 ERA, 94 IP, 66 K.

Watching the game stat tracker and playing the Jays, their RP has been atrocious. Their RP are all 4.5 + for the most part.

    Then they did this:

Jays: Send SP Osuna, Sanchez, and 3B Nay.
Royals: Send C Pena, and SP J. Shields.

What do you think? Obviously I can't reverse now but just like posting the CPU trades and seeing thoughts.

Jays never make the first trade if they're contending, and they got killed in the second one but it's realistic for sure.

I'm nearing the trade deadline for my first season with the Giants. I'm trying to offload Casilla as he's decaying quickly (69 as I type), has a solid salary and I already have a stocked bullpen + Kontos ready to come back up.

I'm trying to get a half-decent prospect for him, either an infielder or an RP.

        Any suggestions?

          Any suggestions?

Send him to Boston for Brock Holt?

What teams are in contention and could use a boost in their pen?

Starting a new dynasty soon to go along my Yanks more realistic one. I have thought of going to the Angels & Nats to try and get Bryce & Trout to play together however neither have the pieces to make it happen. So here's my question would a loaded team like the Cards be able to pull off a trade for both? Even if it means depleting the team to just them 2 and Juan Pierre + Donthrelle Willis + Jason Bay.

            Using OSFM v1.

            Thanks for the help.

What are his stats? If the Yanks need bullpen help they can offload Anna or Solarte for him. Not sure about other teams really, like Totte said contenders are the best source to get something for him. If he's playing badly you won't get much imo

I am in year 2 of my Astros Chise and am ready to unload Dexter Fowler (28 years old, 82 Ovr, and B Pot.)

The Tigers have a few prospects that I would want so would this trade work?

                Hou sends:

                Dexter fowler
                Jesse Crain (33, 82 Ovr B pot)

                Detroit sends:

RF Steven Moya (23, 68 Ovr B pot)
                3B Kaleb Cowart (22, 67 Ovr B pot)
CP Corey Knebel (23, 74 Ovr B pot)

The tigers are competing with the royals at the top of their division and Austin Jackson is hurt for a little while so I think this trade would help them out. BTW I like trades to be fair and realistic so if this is not just let me know if I can change anything.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I'm in my Cubs franchise and i know one swirling rumor was Samardzija to the Blue Jays with Aaron Sanchez a likely key component to the trade. I tried in early May to trade Samardzija straight up for Sanchez and Stroman and the Blue Jays weren't going at all but were willing to part ways with Daniel Norris and either Stroman or Sanchez but I was looking for a bit more (sort of real life Cubs are looking for A LOT).

Well we've gotten into late June now and I'm 33-43 and I received an offer from 2 CPU teams for Samardzija so far. I went back to the Blue Jays who currently sit tied with the Yankees a top of the AL East and tried to offer Samardzija for Stroman and Sanchez and Pompey straight up and they are biting now because it says it fits their plans.

                    Would this be far?

                    Cubs receive:
Marcus Stroman A potential 8-5 4.22 ERA (MLB)
Aaron Sanchez A potential 4-4 3.13 ERA (AAA)
                    Dalton Pompey C potential .212 avg 3 HRs 21 RBIs .287 OBP .305 slug

                    Blue Jays receive:
                    Samardzija 6-4 3.32 ERA

Fair? I feel I should probably add a mid level prospect with some upside. I figured maybe Christian Villanueva who's 22 and B potential since I have Castro, Baez, Bryant and Rizzo. I think situation wise this would be a good deal for both

                    Cubs receive:
                    Marcus Stroman A potential
                    Aaron Sanchez A potential
                    Dalton Pompey C potential

                    Blue Jays receive:
                    Jeff Samardzija A potential
                    Christian Villanueva B potential

The guilt got to me and I traded Chapman back to the Reds. Got Papelbon back along with Marshall and Hoover (still a little injustice but they did get Revere earlier).
Well, I then dealt Papelbon, Affedlt and a prospect for Hellickson. I needed a starter with Cosart out.

Ok just got home and had a chance to look at the Cards roster so here are some options I came up with. Again going for fairness not realism as this would 99.9% never happen.

                          Angels get SP Adam Wainwright 32 93 A 3 yrs 61.15 M, SP Shelby Miller 23 83 A 1 yr 1.4 M, LF Oscar Taveras 22 82 A 1 yr 90 K, 1B Matt Adams 25 77 C 1 yr 560 K, CF Randall Grichuk 22 71 B 1 yr 80 K, RF Allen Craig 29 81 B 3 yrs 7.69 M and SP/RP Carlos Martinez 22 75 B 1 yr 800 K

                          Cards get 1B Albert Pujols 34 88 A 7 yrs 71.88 M, CF Mike Trout 22 99 A 5 yrs 12.78 M, LF Raul Ibanez 41 72 A 1 yr 3.02 M

For this one I can interchange Pujols with a combo of Weaver or Wilson plus others so the cap would match.

                          Angels get SP Michael Wacha 22 84 A 1 yr 1.30 M, LF Oscar Taveras 22 82 A 1 yr 90 K, CF Randall Grichuk 22 71 B 1 yr 80 K, RF Allen Craig 29 81 B 3 yrs 7.69 M, SP Marco Gonzales 22 80 B 1 yr 80 K and 3B Matt Carpenter 28 83 B 5 yrs 5.13 M. Can add Martinez + Wong as well or some other pitchers to help them out.

                          Cards get CF Mike Trout 22 99 A 5 yrs 12.78 M and LF Raul Ibanez 41 72 A 1 yr 3.02 M

                          Nationals get SP Shelby Miller 23 83 A 1 yr 1.4 M, SP Alex Reyes 19 66 A 1 yr 90 K, RF Stephen Piscotty 23 77 B 1 yr 80 K, SP Lance Lynn 26 81 B 1 yr 1 M and SP Ian McKinney 18 56 B 1 yr 70 K

                          Cards get RF Scott Hairston 33 74 C 1.2 M, RP Ross Detwiler 27 71 C 1.3 M and RF Bryce Harper 21 81 A 2 yrs 1.92 M

Only real guy that was rated highly that I didn't add was Rosenthal, would like to keep him or Taveras but I know it's impossible to keep them. Would add Rosenthal if need be. Can also throw Yadier in there instead of Wainwright.

My thought process: Angels need pitching help and Taveras would more than likely help with the loss of Trout. In the first I take Pujols back to take salary back from them and giving them some relief as his salary increases every year after this one. The Bryce one is similar as I give two of the better young pitchers for the Cards in the game as well as Piscotty who would slot in for Bryce. Can replace Lynn with Adams since Lynn would more than likely be the long relief pitcher. Other younger hitters also available.

Again not sure if it's possible to get both and still be fair. If it's not than I'll just go after one. Any input would be appreciated, would rather get these two guys in a fair way rather than doing a fantasy draft.

Anybody have an offer their team could possible give to trade for Samardzija? Looking for at least a top of the rotation(A potential) guy in return the closer to MLB ready the better. And would like to receive another low A potential guy either a SP or OF. If you had another low A or high B pitcher available a B potential 3B is available either Candelario (20 years old) or Villanueva (22 years old).

Eh I know the Yanks would show interest but we don't have enough to get him imo. Unless no one else in baseball wants him and we're the only ones than it's mission impossible to get him. The best Yanks offer would probably start with Sanchez + Pineda and more. Again our farm is dead so yeah. Ha.

Eh the Giants with Crick + more. Not sure they'll have enough as well. Maybe Crick + Escobar + more. Not the sexiest of offers, but Crick is one of the better young arms out there. Can get more elsewhere.
