What's more is that, despite the errors, Castro has proven he can field his position at the MLB level. He has finished the majority of his MLB seasons high on the leaderboard of things like range factor, double plays turned, assists, and total chances. Castro has increased his FLDG % every season in the majors and Alcantara has a .917 fielding % total in the minors, which is brutal. Alcantara's bat is playing up bigtime at AAA though.

Castro's got a -3.7 UZR/150 in a stable number of innings. I dunno if I'd call that fielding his position, but I haven't watched a ton of Arismendy."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I am in year 2021 in my Chise and I signed Mike Trout about 2 years ago. I am playing with house rules on my budget so it is realistic and Trout is taking up a lot of my room. I want to trade him this off season and wanted to see how you guys felt about this trade:
Hou sends:
Mike Trout 29 yo (93 Ovr)
Nick Castellanos 29 yo (88 Ovr)
2B Fernando Gonzalez 25yo (70 Ovr low to mid A pot) top 50 prosp.
ChiSox send:
LF Joe Bryan 25yo (90 Ovr low to mid A)
SP Edwin Diaz 27 yo (91 Ovr low A)
Is this a fair trade? I like realism but I'm far in the future so it's not the same

MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Trout has .285 avg over past 3 years.
Castellanos has hit around .230- .250 over the past few years but has been good defensively. The white sox need a 3B.
Gonzales hasn't played for too long, only 3 years I think. His lowest avg was .260 and highest was .290 ish.
Ryan has hit right around .300 over his career so far.
Diaz has had a ERA of around 3 to 3.35 for the past few seasons.
I'm not on right now but I remembered only their averages. Everyone in the trade is a starter, just thought I'd throw that out there.
The reason I want Diaz is because my ace had to retire due to a torn rotator cuff and the reason I want Ryan is because Mike Trout is taking up too much of my budget. The White Sox are most likely on win now mode as they finished last year with a winning record, can't remember if they, or how far, they made it into the playoffs.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I don't see the White Sox trading two young, superstar-level players just entering their prime, for a player on the backside of his career with a big contract, a light-hitting 3B, and a prospect a couple of years away. The two players they're giving up are probably a big reason they made the playoffs last year, and are in the hunt this year (if they are).Comment

Ok thanks for the reply. I want trade Trout and I know he should be pretty valuable an I should get something back. Maybe just prospects for now and not ML ready talent.
I might come back on here later and try another trade.
With Trout being 30 and a 93 Ovr, what kind of value do you think he's worth? Low A, High B or more?

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Im at the deadline for my Red Sox franchise and a couple of teams have shown interest in Lester. I was looking to find out what kind of realistic prospect packages that I could get in return for him or a package that could land me a legit OF. The teams that have shown interest are the Giants, Dodgers, Angels & Mariners all of which are in playoff hunt.Red soxComment

He's regressing. You can't compare him to the player he is in real life. He's not the same in the game.Comment
