Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah I don't think they'd move them both either... I think Baez or Bryant + Edwards + Soler/Alcantara/Almora would be enough maybe... that'd be a good haul for the Rays for a player they can't resign in the future anyway.Phillies | A's | Michigan State | Browns | Chelsea FC | BruinsComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Glad to see the thread for this year's version of the game, as well as the updated spreadsheet. Thanks a lot to all of the guys who worked on that!
I'm thinking about starting a franchise where I can just completely blow up the major league team and start fresh. I'm leaning towards the Phillies right now, because there's a ton of older guys that I feel I could get some pretty decent value for. (If anyone has any other ideas, I'm all ears). As a Cubs fan, I have a hard time keeping interest in a Cubs franchise once real-life moves start to happen.
Anyways, to get back on the trade topic, what are some realistic destinations for guys like Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, Cliff Lee, Ryan Howard and Carlos Ruiz before the season? I'll probably hold on to a few of them until the deadline hoping that I can play decently enough to get a slight boost in trade value.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Before I even saw Jr.'s comment the cubs came to mind to be in on Price...
The cubs have a ton of good hitting prospects and no pitching, the rays have deep pitching. It could be a good match.
I'd try to get Baez or Bryant + CJ Edwards + Soler/Alcantara/Almora. You might have to move both Baez and Bryant though in any deal and then you have to ask if that's something the cubs would do.
In my opinion I think Price is probably worth 2 A prospects and a high B or 2 mid b's.
I'm definitely going to keep Bryant on the Cubs and will decide on a Baez + CJ Edwards + Soler/Alcantara/Almora package.Comment

Utley to Toronto for Aaron Sanchez was mentioned by AC earlier, if Utley is having a good year.
Ruiz I'm not real sure about... might be worth it to keep him honestly as he's not on a long deal, not worth a ton, and we have no real other options in house.
The only team I can think of that might take a shot on Howard is Seattle if they're in contention and he's playing well. I wouldn't expect much back though.Phillies | A's | Michigan State | Browns | Chelsea FC | BruinsComment

Speaking of Toronto you could try Chase Utley for Drew Hutchinson +?Steelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Lee to the Dodgers for Joc Pederson, Julio Urias, and Corey Seager is a deal I might look to pull off in my franchise. Might add Jimmy Rollins too if the need/fit is there.

I was thinking Ruiz for Luke Jackson (who's more of a mid B in the game) or Ruiz for Cody Buckel + Nick Martinez (which fits the spreadsheet suggestion).
Not sure how I feel about Sanchez for Utley, he'd have to be playing really well for that to happen. Definitely not a preseason move.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
That doesn't really make sense for Seattle he's a hard throwing young reliever with room to improve and the mets have no valuable relievers in the pen. Is their any spots they could use a back up in, maybe I'll trade Ahmed Rosario for him he's a high upside player but no where near mlb ready. If it were real life I would never do that but his potentiàl in OSFM is only a mid C so I probably will never use him, what about a backup or platoon type OFComment
