Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4 Gameplay Videos (IGN)
Two things that stand out as I watched them:
1) the outfields still seem really small. In that second video, the RF ends up about 5 feet away from the 2B when he throws it in on a routine ground ball single. How is a bloop ever expected to fall in if they can touch each other in 4 seconds?
The dirt at CBP looks like it hasn't been watered in weeks.
The new catcher setups are nice, but I almost didn't notice them with that hideous gear they are wearing.
Other than that (and Marlon Byrd's peg legs) it looks good. For me it comes down to how the game feels when you're actually playing it. Will have to wait a few more weeks for that though.Comment

Night time lighting just looks stellar! Love shots that involve the crowd as well.
Can't wait until I can see videos that are 60 FPS and completely uncompressed.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I posted this gif in the other thread from PS Nation, but I'll post it again here. That footage of the Phillies and Citizens Bank Park.....

This has probably been my biggest gripe with the series. Between the small outfields, poor positioning, and insane reactions of the OFers, the hit variety suffers.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4 Gameplay Videos (IGN)
It looks nothing like the video. The dirt kind of looks like when they play an "On Deck" series before the regular season, after a cold winter, where the field gets real dry and the grounds crew didn't have enough time to properly manicure the field.
Now that would be fine if it correlated with the weather, but we both know that's not going to happen.
Am I being picky? Probably, but it just kind of makes the whole atmosphere look dull. That's my hometown team so I will be playing there more than once. Maybe its an old build. Maybe the lighting was off. Maybe it was the Youtube quality. I just made an observation. I'm hoping for the best. There were some promising qualities as well.Comment

Royals offense scoring 9 runs in a game that James Shields pitches? NOT SIM.
The lighting at night is dope. It will be nice to someday bid farewell to these player models, though.Ryan Spencer
