    Improved box scores?

Has anyone heard or seen anything about box scores in the PS4 version? I recently saw some gameplay of the current gen version and it looks like the box score layout is still the same. The biggest issues are pretty minor fixes. For starters, I would love to see 2B, 3B, HR,RBI, and Stolen Base totals in parenthesis next to the players name, it makes it so much easier to keep track of when simming and skimming box scores. I'd also kill for a scoring summary, I always wished there was a way to see who had the walk off RBI in my simulation, a scoring summary in the box score would do just that.

Didn't know where else to put this so here it is.

I don't have the Ps4 version yet, but I know of two things I would love:

    1) In the "in-game" box score, any substitutions are indented. This is how I grew up seeing it in the newspapers, and it INSTANTLY shows you the starting 9 and who was a sub.

(I couldn't find a "newspaper" version, but this is what I mean.

    2) The "game log" would have each at bat/situation/change given ONE line (not a paragraph for each 1/2 inning). Again, I used to read Encyclopedia's about baseball, and those that were in LOG form would usually be like that. Easier to read in my opinion.

(this is an example of what I mean, couldn't find a picture)

    Inn-Out-Count--Batter----Result .
    Pitching: Johnson (0 pitches)
    t1__ 0__ 2-2__ Jones,__ Ground out to 2B; 4-3.
t1__ 1__ 1-0__ Smith,__ Double to LCF; Smith to 2nd.
    t1__ 1__ 3-0__ Parker,__ Foul Pop-out to 1B; P3.
    t1__ 2__ 4-2__ Ross,___ Walk; Ross to 1B.
    t1__ 2 __2-0__ Monk,__ Ground out to 2B; 4-3.

    End of 1/2-Inning, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB (16 pitches)

    Pitching: Ramirez (0 pitches)
b1__ 0__ 1-0__ Norton,__ Homerun to LF; HR, R, RBI.

I like your box score look. I can't believe I didn't think of that (forgot when the last time I read a newspaper was LOL) but I kind of like the Log the way it is. I view it more as a detailed summary of the current inning(s) in the game. I have gone to it a few times to view the summary of an inning for info. I feel it just needs to be clearer on the pitching substitutions.

Pitch counts should definitely be in the box scores

YES!! I've wanted this for a long time. When a guy hits a HR (or whatever) in franchise/season, I want to be able to see on the box score his total for the season in parentheses.

          Example:
          2B: Pence 2 (15), Crawford (7)
          HR: Posey (13), Pagan 2 (5)

This would make it way easier to keep track of how your team is performing while simming games. I sim/manage one game at a time and would love to be able to keep track of these totals without going back into the lineups/manage roster sections. Most real-life box scores do this, The Show should too.

I have been preaching (apparently to myself ) about the plain, vanilla, 1950's type boxscore in The Show. Stats are lacking in all phases of The Show.

Every year I hold out hope for some improvement to the boxscore.

I have been sending sample box scores since 2008 trying to get this improved. There has been no movement, not sure why 2015 would be any different.

If I'm not mistaken, the example you gave above already happens in the game. I know it was in previous iterations. I'll take a look at it in this year's game, but I don't see why they would take that out.

                      Why?

Perhaps because now they have a lot more memory to work with? And maybe they just did not have time to add it to MLB 14 The Show with it being the first version on the PS4. But I bet Russell knows the reason why we have yet to get this kind of box score in the game.

It's not a priority. One day I am sure it will make its way in.

It didn't happen in 13, or before that, as far as I can remember. I haven't played 14 yet, waiting for PS4.

Thanks for the boxscore support nemesis04! I think the stat type baseball players will continue to be 'short sheeted' in The Show series.

I also realize everyone has certain hot spots they would like to have implemented. The great thing is that I will be playing the best sport game in the world.

I believe he's talking about going to the schedule and picking a date where the games have already been played and selecting a box score. The totals are in the box score you get after playing a game before you exit to the menu, but once you exit out the totals are no longer there.
