We beat the Marlins in the Wildcard but lost 3-1 to Arizona in the divisional round. I opted out of the contract to become a free agent, and signed a 3 yr/ 85.2 Million dollar deal with Toronto, with the 3rd year being a player option

James Best Reaches 30 Game Hit Streak

It's still early days for James Best but the MLB Hopeful reached a 30 game hit streak and did so in style with an impressive
3 Run HR in the 5 inning of the Jacksonville Suns win over Mobile. Best had already hit 2 HR in the series which Mobile lead
2-1. Best was quoted as saying "I feel like I am really comfortable with my game at the moment, This was a great way to get a
much needed win". Best currently leads the AA with 11 HR for the season. He also leads the league with a best .489 batting average

Best One Step Closer To MLB Dream With AAA Call up

James Best has arguably been the best AA ball player in the 2014 season. Best was rewarded for his stellar play with a call up
to the Miami Marlins AAA affiliate, The New Orleans Zephyrs. "Im thrilled to get the AAA call-up and get one step closer to
entering the Show" Best was quoted of saying. We will see if Best can show the stellar style of play he showed in the AA in his
AAA stint. I believe he will get a spot on the Marlins before the years end. Best will debut in the AAA on 5/21 against the Oklahoma Redhawks.

        Best Homers In AAA Debut

In what would of been a very disappointing AAA debut James Best salvaged what was a poor showing in his first AAA game with a 389ft Home Run
in the 12 inning to keep the New Orleans Zephyrs with a chance of victory against Oklahoma. Best went into his 6th AB without
recording a single hit. Best struck the ball hard and it went deep onto the right side of the field and into the crowd. Best had several
hit chances earlier that could of resulted in HR but was caught out at the wall falling just short. Best ended up 1-7 as New Orleans lost 9-10
        in 15 innings.

Started a power hitting first baseman. Drafted mid first round to the Yankees. Did well in AA and was promoted to AAA in mid May. Had a good season. .323 24HR 94RBI. My adjusted OVR was higher than Teixeira's base OVR by season end. Started the next season and I'm down in AA???? My OVR is almost 10 points higher than the starting AAA 1B.

          What happened???

Was able to break the Homerun record and set a legitimate one in 2023 at 77, and came 2 RBI shy of that record (189). I won MVP for a third year in a row (first in AL), my third straight triple crown, 6th Silver Slugger, 3rd Hank Aaron award, 3rd Batting Title. And I helped lead Toronto into the Postseason. We swept the White Sox (3-0) in the Divisional Round, and we beat Oakland (4-2) in the AL Championship. Now we play Arizona in the World Series, we dropped Game 1 on the road so we've got our work cut out for us. Only real problem is pitching, it was an issue in September, it's been an issue in the postseason and it cost us Game 1

Mid Season Slump For James Best

Since coming to the AAA James Best has been up and down. Starting off well Best shot to a .340 BA showing the form he showed in the AA. In recent weeks that form has disappeared. Best has dropped his BA to a lowly .320 while he still has the best BA on the Zephyrs its clear something with his game is off. The only notable performance from Best as of late was a 5AB 3H game against the River Cats on June 21. Best struck a triple a 2 doubles in that game. Since that Best has barely hit .250. This is a far cry from the James Best who entered AAA and looked to be a sure fire MLB player by seasons end. As someone who does attend all Zephyrs games I can tell you first hand that James Best is getting looks he just finds his long hits going straight to men in the outfield. While the current form slump of James Best has seen quite the drop in his BA he is still on par with some of the top hitters in the MLB. With a .320 BA Best would be a top 10 hitter in the Bigs ranking 9th in the league.

Just as I was wondering when my player would start making plays... I hit a Grand Slam on the first pitch I saw in this game and then made this catch. Got promoted to AAA a week later. (Playing in the Twins organization).

Question. Im the best 1B in the Marlins organisation in terms of stats. Im 68OVR and while the regular 1B for the Marlins is 74OVR. My adjusted OVR is 82 at the moment. I have better stats than the starting 1B. How long until I get called up. Is it when I get to a 74OVR or can it happen sooner. Not that im inpatient im just curious is all.

James Best In The Park GS Leads To Big Win

James Best did the improbable in the Zephyrs most recent game against Omaha and hit a in the park Grand Slam. Coming after he already hit a HR in the 5th Inning Best hit a powerful shot to the left field wall and just ran and was able to get home."It was amazing to hit not only a Grand Slam but to be an in the park GS is even more special" Said Best after the win. You could only hope the Miami Marlins were watching this game because James Best is on fire at the moment and has sure rid himself of the mid season slump I talked about in my last piece.

James Best Hits 3 Run HR In MLB Debut

It finally happened. The man who I considered the best AAA Player the last few months finally got the big call up to the Show. James Best made his MLB debut on 8/5 against the Pirates at PNC Park. The 18 year old who had impressed many in both AA & AAA with his hitting and aggressive style bought his game to the show. Best early on hit long fly-balls that looked to be early HR opportunities. I guess we can call it third time is the charm as on his third AB James Best hit a 3 man HR which ultimately gave the Marlins the win. Best was mobbed by his new teammates when he returned to the dugout. "Hitting a HR in my MLB debut was one of the most special moments of my life,Then have all my teammates mob me in the dugout was just a great feeling. It will be something I will never forget" Best said following the win. Best with his 4th AB later in the game came close to hitting a on debut Grand Slam but was caught out near the outfield fence. None the less the debut will be memorable and hopefully leads to a long and successful MLB career for James Best

Same thing happened to me in the Yankees org. By the end of my first year I was at the AAA level and had better adj OVR than the starting MLB 1B. Started the next year back in AA for some reason, but by the middle of May I got promoted up to the majors. The starting 1B was moved to DH and I have started at 1B since then. I figured I woud have to be promoted sometime after the start of the season, so I simmed quite a few games until I finally got sent up to the Show.

So you've played 2 full seasons in the last 7 days... how are you doing this lol. Are you simming quite a bit? What difficulty are you on? You considering bumping it up at all after doing unprecedented things offensively?

Ive been in the MLB for a week now and its going well. If I keep playing good ball then I should be hitting the 80s in terms of my OVR and well above the other 1B with the Marlins. I did do RTTS before I started my current one but simmed a lot of it and about 3 years in I was still in AAA and only getting called up every few months.
