are there still CGI faces when a player is traded or signs with a new team?

are there still CGI faces when a player is traded or signs with a new team or now that there is tons of more memory and power of the PS4 will the players keep their real faces and just change their cap?

I think I read they can do it on PS4 and likely will eventually but it didn't make it in this year. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Im no coder but I can't see why they can't just crop the new team hat over the old team hat like they do on the news. Maybe next year if its not in this year.

hopefully tanaka has a picture in the game i no hes gonna be cap but it cant be that hard to upload a pic for him.

Lorne_SCEA already confirmed in another thread he'll be an SCEA cap. They couldn't get people to do a head scan for him. He most likely won't have a picture either. None of the caps last year got real pictures either.

The thing is, they'd have to do every single player with every single team hat and have all of those image files in there for this to work. Unless everyone had the exact same photo so that they're heads are all in the exact same spots and are the exact same size, I don't see an easy way to do it and have it look good/legit. I think if people were ok with some of the photos looking pretty wonky, then maybe they could have some sort of default image for each team that players faces get pasted into.

30 options x however many players are in the game (hint: a lot!) would be a TON of work.

I'd love for them to have CGI faces, it would blend into the minor leaguers without pics. Especially with the next generation.

My sound selfish...but disappointing. No The Show for me until 2015 then when he'll have his real face, mugshot and attributes.

They could easily photo shop it like they do with those generic MLB hats. And the files can't be that big, since they have blu ray storage, or hell they could keep it on the cloud and just DL it when needed.
