This year, PS4 and The Show 14, I am going to play on Rookie+ which adjusts dynamically to your capability, a terrific addition to this game.

I use timing for hitting and Classic pitching with auto base-running and auto fielding.

I'm so glad that this game is able to reach so many different generations such as yours.

Analog hitting uses the right stick. There is another analog hitting option which is zone plus analog called zab (zone analog batting) for short. You use the left stick to move the PCI (plate coverage indicator) and the right stick for hitting.

So is there power swings to hit homers or is it all about your timing? I likely will use analog since that's what was on the last baseball game I played

Analog defaults to a regular swing but you can choose a contact or power swing before the pitch. The power swing is not money to hit home runs with. Timing your stride for a smooth transition is more critical than your swing type, imo.

Take the best sports game you have ever played. This game will crush it in every way...The videos dont do the game justice. The player movements, nuances and ball physics are the best in any game I have played...

Speaking of modes. Has anybody created a advanced tips and tricks for this game? Such as how to nail down throws turning 2? Or like on ground balls - the infielder will actually pause, turn to his right then toss the ball to 1st base.

I've also seen outfielders who chase a ball in the gap where once they get the ball and I've called for a cutoff throw, the outfielder takes a step and lobs the ball to the cutoff - usually resulting in a inside the park home run.

I wish they had training modes for fielding and throwing.
