    Rebuilding Project

I wanted to get your guys opinions on rebuilding teams in MLB 14 the Show. I was thinking of choosing the Cubs because their minor leagues are pretty well stocked with Javier Baez, Kris Bryant, Albert Amora, CJ Edwards, etc and I also thought about the Twins because of Miguel Sano and Byron Buxton

BUT I am a huge Red Sox fans and their minor league system is really well stocked but they wouldn't be a rebuild at all, even though they have some pretty good arms (Henry Owens, Matt Barnes, Anthony Ranaudo, Allen Webster) and some good position prospects (Blake Swihart, Mookie Betts, Jon Denney, Bryce Brentz)

so what do you guys think?

    Re: Rebuilding Project

As a big Cubs fan myself I agree that rebuilding the Cubs with the stacked farm system would be fun but not as challenging. I think the Marlins or White Sox might be worth a shot. Both teams have good young players in the majors but farm is no where near good and neither are really playoff teams

As a Twins fan I would say Twinkies, but Wrigley is sick and the Cubs are a travesty.

I'm debating between the cubs and Marlins.. Jose Fernandez is a stud, surrounding him with talent would be fun

Do you really want to play in Miami's park?

I think I'm going the marlins this year and I actually really like their park.

Yes the HR thing is a bit ugly but the park itself is good. I love all of the MLB parks (including Trop and Oco). In an age where everyone has built retro modern ball parks I think marlins park really stands out of the crowd with its ultra futuristic/modern design.

All personal opinion of course but I like what they did.

Considering you're a Red Sox fan.. And i'm not just saying this cause I love the Cubs... You should really do the Cubs.

                  1) Fantastic Minor Leagues.
                  2) You do have challenges with this - Win while you rebuild, and acquiring top younger pitching. So it's not a walk in the park with Cubs fans
                  3) You're a Red Sox fan. Why not come to a plave where we also have a huge WS drought? You know our pain (not really, but almost the same) and will work to win us our first
                  4) Coming from Fenway, you will love the beauty and history and age of Wrigley, it's a landmark just like Fenway.

So, the Cubs are a great choice for you. :-)

                      Re: Rebuilding Project

I'm going back and forth between the Rockies, Mariners, Brewers, and Astros. I really want a team that hasn't won a World Series yet.

I'm leaning toward the Brewers because I think they could be fun to implode since they have some decent major league talent and next to nothing at the minor league level. Then again the first overall pick with the Astros strikes me as a really tempting opportunity to shape a rebuild as well.

I'll probably start one with each of these teams and stick with the one that I get the most emotionally invested in within my first few games.

I think for the first time ever I'm going to do a rebuilding franchise alongside my normal Cardinals one. I'm going with the twins this year for the two prospects already mentioned; Sano and Buxton.

I figured I would ask this in here instead of making a new thread. What's a good rebuilding NL team I could use? I already have my AL team picked and I wanted to do a NL team as well.

I'm surprised that none of you have chosen the Padres yet. They have a solid young core and some decent prospects in the minors. Also, their pitching is slowly becoming a thing to watch out for. You get to play 82 games in Petco and also many in beautiful At&T Park against the Giants. (And most importantly, you get to try and beat up on the big, bad Yankees of the west).

Who wouldn't want to play in Petco Park, one of the nicest stadiums in the majors! (Too bad their uniforms are super generic, even though I can stand the alternate and road ones to a degree).

so I think I am going to do a regular franchise with the Red Sox and then rebuild with the Cubs, because they really do have a fantastic minor league setup and good history behind them
