Same here. 2k installed in like 20 minutes at most. Only thing i can think of is they mean DL and install time.

Because if the first installment of The Show on PS4 allready comes at 47gb they can hardly add any more stadiums or other stuff if they need to stay within the 50gb...
Its already reading double layers, a BR disc is 25gb each layer if im not mistaken.

That's correct, single layer discs are 25GB. I'm not sure if the PS4 can read anything more than double layer discs, but I assume it can.

Thanks for the info. Can someone intelligent enough be able to translate how large that will be if translated digitally? So if its 47GB Install does that mean a digital download also be 47GB or less?

It'll be at least that large - that's the size of the game, after all - probably the same, though. It may require more free space than that to actually download it, though. PS3 always needed around half of the total size of a download as buffer to allow it to start. For example when I bought Show '13 digitally, the stated download size was 22 GB but I needed something over 30 GB to actually start the download. You get that buffer space back after the download finishes, though. No idea if it's like that for PS4 - I haven't come close to having a free space issue yet.

It could be less, some of the data in the download can be compressed. That's one of the main reasons installing a digital game can take more space then the final install size. When you uncompress data you have to have compressed and uncompressed data at some point, therefore it needs some extra temp space to work with.

I cant imagine the download itself will be the full 47GB, thats the space required once the game is installed.... as someone has mentioned, it will come compressed in a install package and then as its installed, the space then is taken up.

Still a fair download but if you have a decent connection you should be good

Dont worry his 100Mbps line hates my 1000Mbps line. (I dont always get the 1000 but its usually above 500)

We'll see, I guess. That's not how PS3 works though - it never compressed any of the downloads. Anytime I downloaded something off PSN (which was very often in the last few years), it was the entire, uncompressed game. I mentioned the Show '13 and its 22 GB download earlier - that's exactly how much space the game took up on my system in its playable form.

And I remember pretty clearly that people had to download that monster 47 GB for next-gen NBA 2k14. I really doubt anything has changed here. The trick is that PS4 will actually let you play before it totally finishes downloading by allowing you to play some exhibition games - that's what 2k14 did.

Yepp. I downloaded 47GB worth for NBA.

If you buy the disc, arent you able to play offline features while it is downloading/installing?
