I can vouch for this, I've had it happen in my franchise while playing.

Thanks for the clarification. First time it had ever happened to me so I'm glad you had a conversation about that.Comment

Re: MLB 14: The Show - Little Things Thread
Inning to inning, as a player I'd like a reprieve a more rewarding transition to the next frame. For example, I get out of a tough 20 pitch inning with my starter, and then a quick second or too later, I'm now leading off against a guy who throws mid 90s. That has my mind in two different places, I know I can hit pause all I'd like but the game needs a natural transition frame to frame.
This has always been an issue to me but in next gen, they can turn some attention to it. Even if it is nothing but showing the real time (no cutscene) of players walking off the field and back on into their new positions. That would be just great. If they want to get innovative, they could mimick some between innings activity all stadiums do across baseball. Anything would be welcomed, but this issue needs to be looked at.
They should reward players who enjoy and are willing to play every second of their game, not punish them by ignoring these type of things.Red LegendComment

Re: MLB 14: The Show - Little Things Thread
Saw something I haven't seen before in all the years playing...
Attempted to steal 2nd w/ Castro, and Montero couldn't get the ball out of his glove in an attempt to throw - he lost the ball in transition from glove to hand.
I've seen this when trying to turn a double-play, but never during an attempted stolen base...very, VERY cool! They also showed a replay & commented on this. This game amazes me every day.
In the next inning I saw Tony Campana stepping into the batters box and "measuring the pine tar" from his bat by using the home plate as reference....AWESOME...lol
On a side note: I always love the pitch sequence-replay...it's great and never gets old.Last edited by Tommyklaid; 06-30-2014, 06:50 AM.Currently playing on PS5 & XBOX SERIES X:

Re: MLB 14: The Show - Little Things Thread
A pretty big little thing lost for me this year was the ivy, or lack thereof early in the year at Wrigley. I'll never forget how blown away I was when I started a franchise back in the day in MLB The Show 08 and there was no ivy for the first month of the season. Then there was some, then more and finally the classic look. This was so awesome. I was terribly disappointed when I had my home opener this year and the ivy was there in full bloom.
I don't understand why this would have bee taken out of the game.Comment

Really? Does this happen? I've yet to play a game in any stadium that wasn't seemingly at capacity. I'd love to see empty seats everywhere in some stadiums. Does this happen?Comment

Well, that's awesome. I'm dead last in the NL Central but the Cubs usually remain popular, despite their atrocious team right now. I wonder if the game takes that into account. Also, does the attendance differ depending on the teams playing? For example, no matter how bad the Cubs suck, games against the Cardinals should be packed.Comment

I'm pretty sure since they built the stadiums from the ground up on the PS4 they forgot this feature....I (TOO) was surprised when I started my first game and there was green ivy on the wall...I think 2 yrs back they added this little feature that adds to the realism...hopefully they add it back for next year.Currently playing on PS5 & XBOX SERIES X:

Love the little touches on the scoreboard (playing against Milwaukee @ Miller Park) where it says, "Bonafacio batting .455 in his last 3 games"

Yep, no doubt. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I'm wondering, has anyone (especially us Cubs users) ever seen a ball get stuck in the ivy? I'd actually be surprised if it isn't in the game. If you notice when the ball hits the wall at Wrigley Field it disappears for just a second and then pops back out. I'm guessing every once in a while it gets stuck.Comment
