    Pitch count problem?

How come with generated pitch counts, the pitchers number of pitches doesn't match up to it?

For example, if I just got out on his 35th pitch, the next better would go up already in a 2-2 count, but he is only at 37 pitches now. It should be 39 pitches. What's up with that?

This has been discussed many times in other threads. This was done on purpose. The last pitch of an at bat doesn't actually count towards the pitch count in quick counts.

It's done to keep the pitch counts to a somewhat realistic level, without it they would soar up into the 160 or so range pretty much every game.

It doesn't really matter, as pitch counts still get up higher than real life with quick counts however is has gotten immensely better after the last patch adjusted the percentage of deep counts being generated to often.

Short answer to your question it's meant to be that way.

A somewhat similar line of question, even with the way it works "pitch counts can still get relatively high"..do pitchers go over there normal PC. I mean is Justin Verlander throwing 150 pitches every game? If anyone can do it it's him but does it stay realistic per player? I hope that makes sense. Do starters tend to only make it to the 6th inning so to speak because the PC is up?

        Thanks.
