One thing I'd like to see added is manager profiles for shifts

    Something interesting I read today.

Astros are on pace to break the record (over 1800 where as a few years ago teams only shifted 400 or so times a year if that), while the Rockies haven't shifted once this year. Interesting! The game is definitely evolving.

I'd like to see managers shift accordingly to the hitter's spray charts, type of pitcher on mound, the situation, and the stadium being played at. Some stadiums don't make sense to shift the outfield a certain way (like AT&T).

I'd also like to see the use of the touchpad being able to shift on the fly, instead of going through the menus and manually doing it every time. Swipe left should shift everyone to left, right to right, swipe down to play shallow or something, swipe up to play deep or no doubles, etc.

Or you could make your customized shifts and get super creative! Like a 5 man infield when the situation calls for it then be able to share it on the vault!

Does TS have the more complicated shifts, like 5 man infield or having the SS play on the right side of the infield?

More metrics in general would be awesome. It's kind of a bummer because they used the limited memory stuff as an excuse for less stats being put into the game, yet, I'm almost positive they aren't in the PS4 either. Almost half the teams in baseball utilize shifts and advanced metrics, so I'm not really sure why they still aren't in the game.

5 man infield no........extreme shifts yes...

I would be one of the users who utilized extreme shifts online. People probably got annoyed I was pausing so much, but I really enjoy taking advantage of little things like that. Most guys online can't pull a fastball, so I'd do an extreme opposite field shift and try to jam them with fastballs.

It's the first year on the PS4, give it time.

Definitely. I'm just guessing the issue wasn't really memory, but who knows. I'm sure the goal was to get everything over to the PS4 about as neatly as possible, and most people are saying they did that. So I certainly won't be complaining about a lack of any additions anytime soon.

Is there any reason to think they weren't being truthful about RAM shortages being a problem for stats on the PS3?

There were a couple things they have said that they couldn't get in the game due to RAM shortages on the PS3 version, which then didn't make it to the PS4 despite having that available RAM. I'm not necessarily saying they weren't being truthful, more that there may have been other reasons on top of memory shortage for why they couldn't get things like that in. My guess? It's probably really complicated, and like I said, I'd bet money they were more focused on getting things over to the PS4 relatively bug free than adding new things like that.

I'm sure it will be in at some point, I just wish they would have made it a priority moving over to the PS4. I honestly have no idea what SCEA is up to in terms of development, but given that they've been consistently strong with giving the fans what they want, I have 100% trust in things like shifts and advanced metrics getting a boost in next years game or soon after.

I think you're really underestimating how much work it takes just to get a game running smoothly on a next gen console. It's not just copying over the game and changing a few settings, SCEA had to deal with a whole architecture change.

Day 1 with a new next gen console you don't just add 100s of things you needed next gen for. Say you just moved into a house that was 16 times bigger then your old house, it would be a bit unreasonable if your friends were complaining about you not having the entire house filled with tons of new furniture after just a few weeks.

I'm not sure you read my post, Simon. That's basically what I said. I'm aware that it takes a lot of work to get the game running smoothly on a new console, and I even said that that's probably why things like this weren't added.

Ok, maybe you're not underestimating the work, just from the way I read it I thought you where expecting more right off the bat do to the RAM celling being raised. Sorry, I guess we're on the same page then.

No worries! Replace expecting with hoping, and I think you understand me correctly.
