I might be the only one but I choose Season mode instead of Franchise and do a 58 games season. That way, I can play multiple seasons during a year.
Do you play every game in your franchise/season? If not, how many?

The real question is, do you change your strategy since saves can carry over from year to year for offline franchise?Comment

Not until I see it working. At this point I'm sceptical as to how it will work with schedules etc.Comment

The first month of the season I usually play most every game. Just to get a feel for the pitchers and batters. After that I pick 2 pitchers, this year will be Waino and Wacha, and play every game with them, and simulate most all the others. Then come Sept or so, I'll play most every game again depending on where I'm at in the playoff standings.Comment

Re: Do you play every game in your franchise/season? If not, how many?
My normal method is I play the first 10 games in full (this gets me some nice base stats, plus gives me some time with each of my pitchers), then I use the play 1 sim 5 method. Which means you play one game with your #1 starter, then the next full game is with your #2 and so and and so fourth.
One caveat is I don't just sim the games in between. I enter them and use Fast-Forward to the 7th inning then intervene accordingly. Playing this way I at least get a say in many more games than I would if I was to just straight sim them.
I'll probably work in some QC games this year, as well.
Do you use the sportscast manager or can you fast-forward once you start the game and you're in it?PC Specs:

Re: Do you play every game in your franchise/season? If not, how many?
Season mode player here. This is my 3rd year playing The Show. In 2012, I started late, real late. I ended up playing the game over the winter months and ended up simming the last 1/4 of my games just to get to the post season. In 2013, the plan was to mirror the real world 2013 schedule and play all 162 games. However in early July I got distracted by some other real world tasks, I stopped playing the game. I picked the game up again in November and once again ended up playing the game in the middle of winter. But I did play all of my 162 games in 2013 even if I did finish the season several months after the real world calendar ended. Now in 2014, the plan is the same, to mirror the real world 2014 schedule as close as possible and play all 162. So far so good. Now I know what I did wrong in 2013 which allowed the distractions to take place. I vow not to make the same mistake. However only time will tell if I do play all 162 games as close as possible to the real world schedule.Comment

Re: Do you play every game in your franchise/season? If not, how many?
I always intend on playing every game, but do not last too long. Summer months, then NCAA Football would come out...
I am pretty OCD about playing all my games on Franchise modes. I believe with baseball, this Quick Count option is going to really revolutionize my ability to complete seasons. It will also end my obsession with wasting pitches for opponents and being really bummed out the stats are skewed because I cant earn any BBs.
I may play mostly quick count with "big games" perhaps full.Comment

I play 1 game a series unless its a rival. I play everything when its tied. When I take a lead I pitch only and FF, when I trail I bat only.
