I would hold out hope, like I said I was surprised with how well it played figured it would be a lot worse and by far exceeded my expectations. Played a few games offline and in the past where I would struggle with the timing when making the switch to online from offline that was not the case with MLB14. 2 games, so maybe honeymoon or just have not seen any anomalies yet

Can you post some 15 min online games from the PS4? That way I can see how it is.

This happened to me on the ps3 online head to head matchup twice after the patch

Man on 2nd two outs in the first inning I hit ball in the gap between RF and CF. Ball gets to the wall. My runner scores easily and batter holds up at 1st. Should be 1 to zero with two outs and runner at 1st. Nope instead when my runner scores it's counted as an out! Inning over no runs! This has happened two times to me!

I played my first online head to head game last night and only had one issue where something that was happening on my screen was different from what was happening in the game. I had a base runner that was trying to score from second base and I used the command to send him home as he was approaching third. I realized he wouldn't beat the throw, but I never used the command to retreat him back to third base because on my screen it showed him holding up at third base (thinking I probably botched the command to advance him home). My opponent was making a throw to home plate, though, and the crowd was yelling. Right as the throw reached the catcher my runner on third base warped in front of home plate and was tagged out. Not a real biggie to me, I should have retreated him anyway.

Other than that it was a great game. No fielding or pitching issues that I can recall and hitting was perfect imo.

Its actually terrible compared to the PS3 (butter smooth for me) which is strange considering we are now paying for Online!

Its not fully unplayable but I found it very jittery (bowl floats, fielders just move like stop action animation etc..). Servertweaking is a must at the moment.

Yea lets do it, I'm on extremely fast internet (hard wired) so if it is not smooth, its clearly Sony's fault.

Just played an exhibition game online, the combination of lag and quick counts ruin it. Starting a game online with 3 balls or 2 strikes is really cheap, didn't see an option to turn it off anywhere. There was all sorts of warping around, runners running across the middle of the infield. Runners that clearly beat throws to the bag getting called out by the umps. It's too bad that the online play continues to drag this series down.

If a regular to series you would know to change the settings under play now settings for online and quick counts no longer an issue, I also recommend turning on fast play

Mines like 20/4/2 and Madden etc.. all play fine.
Haven't tried The Show online yet this year but hopefully it's smooth in time.

If you play with wireless internet connection you are probably gonna have a bad time with this game. Your connection needs to be very stable..wireless is inherently unstable.

But why is that? I play plenty of other games wireless (BF4, FIFA, COD, Madden (360), Borderlands (360) and so on) and I don't really have any issues...don't get me wrong, COD can be infuriating (I've actually just about written-off that franchise), but everything else seems to be OK. There are times in FIFA I will get lag spikes, but they are far and few between. BF4 can have some issues in 64-player large maps, but overall it's an enjoyable, playable experience.

I have mine completely wired and not that it's unplayable but its bad. The way the fielders warp around the field is crazy and the ball floats lazily!

I am actually a little frustrated given that this is a first party game and I'm being charged for services that are actually worst than the PS3
