    What's Wrong with Stride Timing?

Perfect Strides used to be "begin your stride when the pitcher releases the ball". Just playing the prospect games I can tell this isn't the case anymore, or it's not working as intended.

Has stride timing been changed, or is this a bug?

My timing on swings seems to be fine, it's the actual striding mechanism which seems to have been changed.

I always have "just late" stride timing.

90% of my strides were late in my first game that i just finished but the good news is it doesn't seem to neuter your hitting in any way as i just won 6-5 playing as the Phillies vs Reds on a Rollins 2 out, 2-run walk-off shot to right center. I got one perfect stride during the game when i purposely started striding way early and a few "good" strides but i was concentrating too much on that and it was affecting my patience and swinging at junk. So i just started striding like normal, ignoring the feedback and just played. I think it "may" be a bug though.

I definitely noticed in RTTS (maybe because of the stat difference) I went 0-8 in both prospect games and after re-enabling Swing/Pitch info to see what was wrong i noticed all my swings had late stride timing.

In the past I thought the stride was messed up, like you said you had to stride as the ball was leaving the pitchers hand, resulting in a lot of half baked swing mechanics. This year you stride when the pitchers arm is about halfway through his motion, looks like a more natural stride when hitting now (at least to me anyway)

Hopefully we can get some kind of official word on this. As someone who has used Zone + Analog exclusively for 2 years it's a pretty big change.

Surprised they never mention anything about it in the options. I don't see any in-game tutorial like last year, but maybe I have missed it.

Played a few more hours. Just using my best judgement on when to stride seems to be enough, though im rarely seeing a "perfect stride".

Definitely noticed that hitting is a lot more like 12 then 13. Balls looking quite a bit faster, and the timing window seems a lot more narrower.

Wait until the pitchers hand is basically pointing to center field behind his back (don't know how else to explain, lol). That works for me.

I had the ps3 and now the ps4. I get just late 90% of the time. Annoying. Don't know if it effects it much. Almost wish I could turn that feedback off so I don't have to be reminded after every pitch.

Yeah I agree. The change is for the better. Gives you more time too sit back and react. Before it was such a rush load when the pitcher released the ball until you had to decide to swing. It's more realstic now. Just got to get a lot of practice in.

I have to just go to practice and learn and get it down because I have been playing RTTS all day and I can't get my stride timing down for nothing. Tonight I will be in practice mode until i get comfortable with the timing.

If Stride Timing is still an option in the sliders menu, you could perhaps up that a bit to see if it helps. Nonetheless, I've been seeing pretty much the same thing as everyone else with the Just Late strides. I have gotten one Perfect and one Good so far in 2 games but it's definitely changed a lot. I suppose it will just take a bunch of practice to update the muscle memory from past games.

I am getting a lot of hits by just starting my stride early.
