So how does the default fielding work? I have way too many errors

It seems like no matter how long I hold the button, the meter is red and it far too often results in a throwing error. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something here?

You need to be more specific on which fielding choice you are using because there are different defaults based on difficulty.

The default one (on veteran) where you hold a button and the circle on the player fills up red. I can't remember how it's labeled.

The one with the bar that goes red to green to red? If it is that one I believe you want to get your meter in the green area.

It's not a meter like the pitching meter, but seems to function in a similar way. The problem is, no matter how long I hold the button, the circle seems to be red which results in a bad throw extremely often.

Depends on the type of throw. The quicker the release, the quicker it will fill up. In some cases, a light tap will put you in the green. You have to learn how to read the fielder and know what kind of throw is coming.

However, you can turn throwing accuracy up in the difficulty sliders until you get used to it.

So does it go red green red? Maybe I'm not holding it long enough. I was under the impression that the longer you held the button, the harder you'd throw it.

If it is button accuracy your initial press determines throw strength. As you continue to press you hold until the needle is in the green section and then you let go. If you go past the green section it will eventually get back to red resulting in a poor throw.

What needle are you referring to? I just see an expanding red circle under the player.

Please check what the actual name of the throwing you are using. We are not on the same page.

Go in the options and change fielding to "button accuracy", then you will have the meter to stop in the green.

Please help me: I Love using the analog for fielding but I commit way to many errors, what am I doing wrong. I commit like 5 per game in RTTS and it just cost me to lose a game online.
