    Re: Classic running

Interesting. Well if it keeps up you can always gamble and send him early by tapping quickly L2. If you miss the bunt, probably thrown out at 3rd.

I rarely bunt a guy to 3rd. Why would you? You can always use contact swing and hit behind the runner.

I'm not saying it's a bad play but curious as to why bunt a runner to 3rd?

Yeah, so I made the switch today. After years of using classic, I switched to default. Took me a game to get used to it, but I'm good now. Last straw with classic today was when I CLEARLY and SEPARATELY sent my runner home and sent my batter to second, they BOTH kept doing the same command, and I got screwed out of more runs again. After that happened I immediately switched to default and tried it out. Took me a couple innings to get used to the control scheme, but at least it's RESPONSIVE! And DOES WHAT I WANT IT TO DO! lol. So yeah... default for me.

        I don't think I'm far behind you.

Not sure why classic baserunning was changed.

Just curious - how did you execute the play? What commands?

Guy on 2B. Ball hit into the RF gap, immediately I press Triangle->Down (Send runner home), and then X -> Up (Send batter to second). After this, my runner at second stutters before doing anything, THEN goes while my batter stops at first. Then I do those commands again and BOTH runners go to second, then BOTH runners go home, needless to say, guy gets thrown out at home, while other one BARELY slides in safely at 3rd. SOOOO confusing. Default works great for me.

It doesn't seem changed, it's just that it seems like all runners are following a single command of a runner, instead of following individual commands you give them.

I wonder if anybody issued a bug report on classic running?

I can do that right now.

                  EDIT: Bug reported.

So is that not a change?

On top of that, I can't seem to pre-load runners the way I used to or control them individually.

I've been playing this game for about 9 years with the same controls. Something has changed this year with these controls....

Yeah, seeing it like that, you're right. I'm thinking something just got messed up in the transition of consoles. Either way though, try default. it's just pretty much classic backwards (instead of hitting the runner icon and pushing destination, you push the left stick to highlight the runner and push the shape buttons for destination). But again, it's responsive.
