Best Hitting Camera?
What is the general consensus on which hitting cam to use to tell balls from strikes? I cannot tell no matter how far out of the strike zone the pitch is, I end up swinging at everything. They all look like strikes to me at the point I have to judge wether to swing or not. I would like to stay in some form of the catcher view.Tags: None -

Try starting from a custom catcher view, zoom in and move the camera up so the box is more in the middle of the TV. This way, you can see the trajectory of the ball easier. What is the general consensus on which hitting cam to use to tell balls from strikes? Works for me at least.Comment

Your eye, with regards to balls and strikes, comes from practice and repetition. My advice is try them out to see which one just feels right to you. It'll just take time from there until you will be able to recognize pitches faster.
Some people swear by some of the default cameras while others always do a custom one. In the end, it's one of those personal preferences. Not much of an answer, but just go with what feels comfortable. One less thing you're thinking about while hitting.Comment

Re: Best Hitting Camera?
I might give that a shot, centering the strike zone in the middle of the screen. I wonder if raising the strike zone above pitcher level may help too
One problem is that I'm coming from the 2k series, while terrible, you could go to options during a game and look at different hitter cams while seeing the view change because the menu was transparent (if I remember correctly). With the show you have to change the setting and leave the menu to see the change.Comment

I think there is a cameras option in the pause menu of the game, separate from the gameplay settings. There you can choose your batting camera and it previews it for you.I might give that a shot, centering the strike zone in the middle of the screen. Pause the game when batting. Scroll to the last menu screen. I think it's the one of the bottom left. I'm new to the series as well but I know you can preview what the cam will look like.Comment

If you go to batting practice you can get a pop-up box on screen for the options that lets you step the view choices sideways and shows each one as it does so.
I used it earlier to correct the view on PS4 to the one I'm used to from the PS3Comment

Yep, assuming the OP is new to the franchise you just need time. It took me 100+ games before I was comfortable at the plate judging balls and strikes. But once I crossed that line the game became SO much more fun.
Unfortunately I haven't played the last few years so I have reverted back to striking out quite a bit again.Comment

Even in well over 100 games in 2k I couldn't read pitches. Even with pitch speed lowered. I'm going to give the different suggestions a try.Comment

Well this could just be me but find an camera angle and stick to it. If you keep switching it just leads to frustration and doesnt help your hiiting much.Try GMO'S custom camera. Search for it here on OS forums easy to find. It does work for MLB 14 because i have it saved as one of my cameras but do not use it.Comment
