Quick question on how to read pitchers stats.

Sorry if the title was misleading but I'm having trouble figuring out how to read something. On the ps4 when I click the touch sensitive pad and activate the pitcher vs batter analysis I'm having trouble with one thing. When I'm looking at the pitcher from the other teams attributes I see things like BB/9, S/9 ETC.. This maybe a stupid question but I can't figure out how the 0 through 100 attribute slider reads here. If a pitcher has a BB/9 around 37, does that mean he doesn't throw many balls? Or does it mean because it's 37 he sucks and will throw lots of balls? Or, excuse if I get this wrong but how about like HR/9 I'm assuming that is how many long balls the pitcher will give up, so how does read if the attribute is 90? Does it mean because the slider is at 90 he gives up a ton of Homers or very few?

Thanks so much for explaining because I'm confused a little here...

Right, it means how good you are at preventing walks and hits and home runs. The higher, the better.

The higher the number to 100 the better he is at avoiding walks.

Or does it mean because it's 37 he sucks and will throw lots of balls? Yes

Thanks for your swift replies guys.. So in a nutshell when I'm looking at a pitcher I'm facing, If I see the attributes low in a category like H/9 that means he is not great in the area and I could possibly expect to get a fair amount of hits? Thanks again..
