    Pitch speed variance between TV's

Ok, I have a new primary TV then what I'm used to playing the show on. First few days even with pitch speed at 0 and can't catch up to anything with my typical zone plus analog setting. I drop to regular zone, still late on everything.

So tonight, I'm playing on a older tv, still 1080p and at least 120hz and the pitch speed is significantly slower to where I can use zone plus analog and actually increased the pitch speed slider some to make it play right.

My question is what can I do with my primary tv to slow the speed down. Note everything feels smoother on the other tv

Changed TV's last year with MLB the Show 13. Found out my new TV I had to select game mode on the settings of the TV to be able to play ... didn't need to do that on my other TV. The weird thing is on my new TV I have to select "game" mode every time I play. For some reason it doesn't save the mode for the next time I turn on the game. I'm sure it's operator error

What the hell?? That's strange! The tv shouldn't have anything to do with the games pitch speed. Not sure what to tell you, never had that issue. I always play with pitch speed all the way up, but I never had anything like that happen.
1458, not counting playoffs, that's the number of games in a row I haven't missed! Go Yanks!

Every tv has a thing called input lag. Some TVs have a lot of input lag and some TVs have minimal. I had a samsung LED that was horrible even on game mode. Now I have a Vizio and it's money.

This could have something to do with input delay. As in, it takes a couple milliseconds after you press the swing button on the controller to actually swing in the game.

This would make it appear that the ball is faster or slower, because it's taking a little bit for your button press to register and display.

Maybe that is what it is?

Yeah that's probably it, ha maybe that's why I'm so bad at BF3. Crazy thing is the secondary TV is over a wireless HDMI bridge.

What we all call Input Lag on a TV when gaming is actually a form of Display Lag.

If you don't use it in 'Game mode', the TV post-processes the signal, so what you are seeing on the screen was actually transmitted by the PS4 up to 100ms earlier.

This means that when you swing, you are swinging up to 100ms too late, so all your hits will be late.

Switching the TV input to Game mode tells it to turn off the post-processing of the PS4 signal so you see it on screen within 20ms of the PS4 transmitting it and can now swing at about the right time.

I was playing on a 46" Sony television when the game first came out and was late on everything on default pitch speed. Just today I upgraded to a 24" monitor and the difference is astounding. I'm now on the highest pitch speed and still get early timing on some fastballs. Pulse pitching is now almost instantaneous too, from when I press X to when the circle locks in. Never realized how much better the game plays timing-wise with minimal input lag.

As others have said, Game Mode on your television is the best way to try and minimize lag. However, there are going to be inherent differences with different displays with regards to input lag that you cannot do much about. Game mode will help on your primary TV, but it probably cannot get it to the level that you want.

Yeah I turned on game lag and good to go, weird thing is I tried it before with BF3 and saw no real difference. I think it turned back off when I reset to default a few weeks ago.

Anyways it's fixed, game plays great
