Not that it isn't possible (but really, this would be amazing in real life), but I had Hanley Ramirez hit a 460ft. HR to center field into a 16 mph wind, then in Coors field he hit a 420 ft. HR to right center field into a 14 mph wind.

Is the wind working properly?
Does anyone else sense that batted balls aren't being affected in-flight? I've had as much as 18mph side winds and the ball trajectory doesn't change. Is the wind being factored into the outcome before it is even in flight I wonder? I don't see drift, does anyone else?

Yeah, I just played a 1 mph wind game, and a 14 mph game. I saw no difference in ball-flight and no affect at all.Comment

Re: Is the wind working properly?
The more you play this game the more you see things that make you scratch your head.
No organ music. Wind doesn't work properly. Low fielding cam removed. Slow pitch delay removed. No online co-op. Select menu info removed.
Hopefully some of these things can be patched or added back in next year.Comment

Re: Is the wind working properly?
I don't mind, I would love the wind to work dynamically, with gusts and change of directions and differences at altitude very realistically. If that's what they're working on then its worth the wait and until then I can be ok without it this year. Maybe wind is part of a whole dynamic weather package they are working on for this gameRed LegendComment

Re: Is the wind working properly?
Slider works fine - in fact it's the one slider in this game that is the easiest to see the effect of - it actually changes the wind value in the in-game pause screen as you move the slider left or right.
I dunno, I play at Wrigley a lot and it seems to be extremely hard to hit one out when the wind is blowing in (and vice versa blowing out), so I haven't really seen any reason to believe it's broken.Comment

Re: Is the wind working properly?
It's hard to provide solid evidence of this one way or another, but this is about the best I can think of. The next time you hit an "unusual" homerun, check out the batter analysis and look for the "label_hitchance" filter. That's an estimate of the quality of contact - how well the PCI was lined up, on a scale of 0 to 15.
Take a look at this:
Those are the hits from a game I just played (yes, it's MLB vs AA, I'm testing extremes on quick counts and just happened to find something applicable to this thread)
One of these things is not like the others. That "9" is significantly lower than all of the other hits, meaning I had the PCI poorly placed (it was completely below the ball on the post-pitch analysis, which read as "Normal contact and "Normal" timing). So, what was it?
This.

Ryan Sweeney hits a wall-scraper that just clears the basket. There wasn't much wind (3 MPH) and I wish there had been, but I really don't think this gets out of the yard without a little push. And what wind there was was directly behind the ball.
BTW, Ryan Sweeney is not a power hitter. 36 PWR vs. Lefties, and 34 vs. Righties. And I'm playing on HOF hitting.
What do you guys think? I'll keep an eye out for more stuff like this - I'm bound to notice more of it in Wrigley if I'm on the lookout for it.Comment
